You're totally right, my drum programming (and my use of so-so sounds) does expose a certain laziness of mine in that department
. As I was saying to Juho in my original response to him (before the server rudely deleted on Monday 8O ), I can spend literally hours programming and arranging just one synth sound and then, in my rush to get it all together, I tend to slap down the drums and never properly revisit them - which is a new discipline I'm going to have to look into.
I've also susbequently decided only to use pure synth generated drum sounds rather than the sample & synthesis approach so far. I've always thought that S&S was kind of cheating, anyway !
What do you guys use for your drum parts ? Is Novation Drum Station any good or do you use up some of the Virus multi slots with drum sounds ?
