Be prepared to drive yourself completely nuts
Every BC percussion snare and cymbal sound is the end result of _hours_ of obsessive tweaking. The main difficulty is that your ears get so tired of hearing the same sound over and over again - at least when you're making melodic patches you can play a tune with them!
