I have solved the problem!!

It turns out that when the top casing was put back on the synth the buttons on the modulator section had been jammed under it, meaning the casing wasn't on securely. ...

Transpose key acting like a latch in Multi Mode.

When in Multi Mode and assigning different patches to different octaves i frequently need to switch quickly which means i often transpose down while holding the last note of the previous phrase....

the midi channel thing was the key to it. I assumed that had something to do with Midi cables. I'm a novice when it comes to computer linkups etc.

Is it possible to setup a multi mode and play 16 parts at once without using midi cables, computers or anything other than the hardware?
