Virus TI Patches On Earlier Models?

Do TI patches work on earlier Virus models? Much like how Virus C patches worked on the Virus B.

Of course, wavetables / hypersaw wouldn't be available, but does it just default to saw or something...

S/PDIF Output

Is there a use for the S/PDIF output as of 2.7.5? I was hoping to be able to assign specific channels in the Virus|Control to the S/PDIF to use as a 4th digital output. But it seems I can't do that...
