Midi thru question

Hi guys I cant seem to get any midi thru.
Heres the set up.
Im tryin to get the midi from a kaoss pad 2 thru the TI and into the Motu ultralite.
Im pluggin the kaoss pad into the thru and the midi...

Changing patches

Prolly a stupid question but is there any other way of changing through patches in VC other than dragging them from the browser window?
When I press + or - value buttons it changes to the RAM presets...
