Blakelight music

Hi man, I like your improv, it will be fat with a full band! But make sure you utilise all your skills, it's easy with synths in a band to slip into just doing a few tweaks, (which is what I've found...

Ben Crossland's filter sound

Hi Ben, I wonder if you could just list the parameters you were using when you got that filter sound on your video - the sound you had when you played that funky little melody just after you say...

Hi guys - any suggestions on what you think the next dance music will sound like? We've had trance, d n b, psytrance, garage, breakbeat etc. - Maybe psybreaktech-bass!

Nord 3 and Nord modular

Hi, can any lovely person tell me the key differences between these two and which would be best to get? For example, what would be the point of buying a nord lead when you can do so many different...

Q / virus

Yes juho is right, the q can basically do more than the virus overall, but I think that its harder to use, and the sound is not as alive and often not as full, i.e. you can't get those lovely lively...

viruc kc track

There's certainly some very nice sounds in there, especially the high lead at the end, but you keep loosing the flow of the track and it never really gets off the ground for my taste, which is a...

fullon

Is that some iraelian psytrance I hear? I'm sure you can do that with the virus, try using filtered sawtooths with and changing the waves to one of the 64 available for the low notes. I'll have a try...

Q

The Q has an amazing range of sounds, from an incredibly clear lead to a distorted sound of a huge anvil being struck, and a q rack s/h goes for only about ?500-600, which is a steal! But yes the...

>OK, this has gone on long enough. To do vocal choir type sounds well, you need at least three tunable highly resonant filters. You tune them to form...

303

I think it might be impossible to make something that sounds exactly like a 303, (unless someone spends a huge amount of time and analysis and programs some software to do it) because the parts in...

Fat synths

For shear power you can't beat a 303 through an old valve distortion like that peavey one, the SH101 is very tasty for bass lines and acid fx, and the pulse is definitely a wise purchase, it's very...

House music

I'm not being rude, but virtually any synth in the world can write house music! Even one of the first casios could be quite useful.....
