Just bought the virus ti.
I bought it second hand on ebay of a guy from America california. And was wondering living in Ireland what is the story with power chord issues? Will it work over here or do i need sumthing th make it work over hear.
Is there a switch on the back of the TI to press first before i turn on the TI over here? Power transformer kinda thing is it needed |

What?? The power supply on the back for electricy to flow to the virus ti. Is it diiferent volts here in Ireland compared to america?
|
forgive me if im wrong, but the TI can be used in both voltages right? You just need an adaptor to plug into? Take it to an electronics store with the cables you received and discuss with the staff.
|
O ok i know a trick to plug in the 2 pin plug anyway. I just needed to know i there would be a prob if i did this. Thanks

I'd spend the cash and get the appropriate converter. They are like 20 bucks and should make it perfectly safe to operate.. definitely worth it when your synth cost 3k :)
|
What is the exact name for the converter. Wasnt the virus ti made in germany do therefore using the europian volts?
|
Does Ireland use the same 230volts @ 50Hz as the UK? Does Ireland use three pins like UK too?
USA is different, they use 110Volts with two-pin power plugs. What TI have you got? Does it have an external power supply? If it does, buy a new power supply. Look underneath or the rear of the Virus, there should be a label telling you what voltage it needs. If it says "110-230 Volts" at "50-60Hz", and it uses an internal power supply, then it means it is auto-sensing and all you need is the correct power cord. |
