D&B Bassline - Commix

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cubWZl0Od5s

this bass is smoking --> 1 min 13 secs

any ideas how to come up with this from scratch or a preset that is close. Love to know, thanks in advance

:)

It sounds pretty much like it's just a low-passed basic reece sound!

The hypersaw (AKA the super-hyper-megasaurus!) on the TI is more than capable of producing big and nasty reece sounds by merely detuning two oscillators, whacking the unison up to 8 and adding ring modulation and distortion to taste!

Give it a go :)

Yeah it's definitely just detuned/distorted saw waves with a lowpass over it.

Thanks for that will give it a try.
One more question though, how do you shape the sound so that it does not decay. In the past just upping the sustain does not keep driving the sound.

Sonis 04.08.2009 08:27 AM

You just have to up the sustain on the amp envelope, you'll get absolutely 0 decay if you do that. The only other thing I can think of that'd still be giving you attack would be if you have phase init turned on with detuned waves, or if you have the punch setting on the turned to something other than 0 (defaults to half way I believe).

Awesome, that's exactly what i'll try

On a side note - Commix/Calyx+Teebee/Noisia on the way to Perth.

Awww yeah :D.
