Why does my virus sound 10x better in cubase than ableton live?
Ive always been a huge fan of ableton live but I noticed that the sound of the virus when in cubase using the VC is fuller and of a higher quality then when using live. I prefer to brainstorm in live but i would also like to perform with live and still have top quality sound and the better the virus sounds the more inspiring the tracks will be. Any advice/knowlage on the subject?

Are different panning laws selected?
Panning law = the way the centre channel (L & R) is summed. When you sweep a sound from L > R, for example, the panning law states how much the signal is attenuated as it pans through the centre channel, like dipping by -6dB or -3dB, etc. |
In lives prefrances or my audio interface.

Shortbus, don't say that :(
I'm a hardcore Live user. I do have some issues with Ableton's final summing. Don't know, if it's just my ears. I always tend to bounce out into Logic and do a final export. 95% done on Live, 5% on Logic. I just bought Suite 8 and don't want to leave Live :( I hope it's only my ears and the audio engine is top notch. Timo, can't find any setting under Live for that! ________ Yamaha TG77 specifications |

im going to have to test this for myself now youve sowed the seed of doubt in my mind as ive gone from cunbase to ableton for ease of workflow. however isnt the quality set at 16bit 44.1 what ever daw youre using with the ti usb connection. i find it hard to believe that the ableton sound engine would give any percieveable difference to a recorded wav. are the main out setting in the common tab of vc set the same in each daw as that can make a difference to how full or stereo it sounds. |
