Are household appliances coming back in vogue?

We used a sample that I took from the inside of a very old and rattly fridge on a wooden floor,
resampled it through crappy old FX units, this was then tuned, pitched down and filtered on a Roland S760 sampler.

It pretty much sounded like a unison "Hoover" synth, or so we thought. It got used on several tracks in the end 'cause it had a vibe. :p

Anyone else have unusual ideas for sound design to share?

Holy craptaculations. That guy is my hero. It's so catchy. It's stuck in my head now. What's a guy to do?

I wrote a song a while back where the main lead sound was a tuned sample of me blowing bubbles with my head thrust into a bucket of water. ^_^
