More than 16 midichannels?
My synth collection has grown over the last months, and now there's not just one, but three synths in the rack! I use Cubase VST/32 and wonder how to setup my system. Is there a way to get more than 16 midichannels in the program, or do I have to buy a midiinterface or something? Any other recommendations on how to setup the system?

MOTU MicroLite
I've had good luck with the MOTU MicroLite. It's a bare-bones interface but it works well for my needs. I'm about to buy another 8-channel MOTU midi interface (and an additional USB card to hook it to .... I've run out or USB ports).
Each of it's 5 midi ports is capable of sending and receiving 16 channels of MIDI. Right now, I'm working 16 channels out of port 1, 2, and 3 and sending only one channel of midi through ports 4 and 5. Additionally, I have two more USB midi ports for my UC16 and my PodXT. Go nuts!!! They're only like about $130 apiece. |
