I need a Virus, but do I wait for TI?

Yeah, I was wondering if it's worth the wait, or if I should go for another Virus on Ebay, as those seem to be pretty inexpensive now, and they are readily available once I get the money to afford one.

What do you guys think?

And what model preferrably would you recommend me if you think getting another Virus is more viable than the TI?

If you need one now, get the C model. The extra filters are worth the extra $$ you will pay for a C model. Not to mention the added polyphony.

It depends on a few things..

First, do you often use VST instruments and find it more convenient than traditional hardware? If so, wait for TI.

However, the 2nd thing(and not the least!) is the release date. Nobody really knows when the TI will be released. It might be next month, it might be in 6 months...We just don't know!

I used to have a KC and it was great.

Hmm, well the computer integration would be nice...VERY nice...

I use Fruity Loops Studio and I use a craplaod of plugins, so being able to work with it as a plugin would definately help my music ALOT...and would allow me to tweak via hardware while sequence via software..the ultimate production tool. For live performance though is another issue...

I'm looking mainly at the Virus for a VA synth to add to my rig. I play in an industrial metal band called Staat Von Kreig. If you wanna hear us, check out our Myspace profile.

That is basically the gist of the sounds I make..I do synth drums, and all other synth sounds. So yeah...lol.

I don't think that TI will be compatible with Fruity tho.
I used to use Fruity but when TI was announced, I switched to Cubase since the host needs to be compensated for delay...and fruity can't do that!

kiss goodbye to the idea of the Ti and FL working well together, coz it's not gonna happen i dont think. Get a better sequencer (i recommend SX). Like Madstation said you need delay compensation.

bj2001 22.03.2005 04:11 PM

I hope i don't w8 for the Virus TI cos the integration with FL doesn't work.
What a pity then, FL is a toy!! :x

MADSTATION 22.03.2005 04:16 PM

Access aren't to blame here tho.
The FLSTUDIO dev team has states clearly on their forums that they WILL NOT work to implement automatic delay compensation.

So I said SCREW THEM...And fruity is a toy indeed! It's more than possible to do music that sounds pro using fruity, but I will no longer use it :)

I see the implementation of the TI VST Control Panel being much like the Powercore implementation. And Cubase SX3 (with PDC) works great with a Powercore Firewire.

So are there any good sequencers with built in modules like Fruity? I tried Reason once, but it was too complicated for me at first...but then again, anything you make in that has a professional sound, as far as sound quality goes..not the music is a different story..lol.
