Anyone still get the blank boot up screen?

I seem to be one of the unfortunate people who get this. If i unplug when ive finished and then plug it back in when i start, i get the blank screen. If i flick the switch on the plug on and off or unplug and replug the power lead then it boots up ok.

This happens every time. Its not a major ball ache but im concerned that its a hardware fault and that if i dont return it and then it runs out of warranty...

Anyone gone through this? What did you do? Other than this its working pretty well but for ?1500... well its been said many times before...

Any advice? Oh, its the keyboard Ti. Not that that makes a difference?

Cheers guys

Hi,

I have the same problem with my virus TI desktop. I think its ridiculous a 1700 euro synthesizer has this kind of troubles.

I don't think the TI's boot properly if you shut down by unplugging the power cord. I think most of us put the TI to sleep with the transpose buttons.

Try the sleep function and let us know how it goes. :)

I do leave it in sleep mode normally and it turns on ok with the transpose buttons. However, i left it in sleep mode for a few days and it wouldnt boot up (it says in the manual that you should unplug it if your not using for a while). Like i say, normally its no bother but im just a bit concerned that its a hardware problem and it cant be fixed with a software update.

Just a bit weird really. Its like it needs 'an electrical kick up the arse' before it'll start. Id just like to know why.A solid reason gives me grounds to return it.

If i bought a new car and it wouldnt turn over first twist of the the key i'd be a tad concerned about the quality of the thing

Yep, I had this problem and sometimes it would need several kicks up the arse before starting up, I ended up taking it back and exchanging it for another desktop which thankfully works fine. I couldn't find any solution to the problem however and I did try hard. The weirdest thing was I was able to boot up the Ti using the Arp button instead of the transpose button!!!

I too have this problem regardless of leaving it in sleep mode or unplugging it. It's the 2nd TI desktop that shows this (I exchanged the first). It'll prolly show up on everyones from time to time. I'm starting to think access should recall these units at some point.

It happens from time to time.
Rather annoying...
I would have preferred a power switch.

Also happens to me randomly.

One of the numerous random bugs in the TI.

mind_over_gravity 11.03.2006 09:07 AM

happens to me almost every second time I'm booting up
and every time it happens my computer shows me that a new hardware is plugged and start the hardware wizard
buggy as hell
