lfo sync and automation

what's going on guys.
i've had my virus for a long time, and i love it to death, but i am encountering a snag when trying to record automation.
currently, i am assigning the lfo to filter cutoff, and syncing the lfo to the clock, so that my cutoff and lfo will always be in sync.
the problem is, that i've noticed as SOON as i turn sync on, i can no longer right click>add lfo to automation.
i've tried all 3 lfo's to no avail, tried routing it in the matrix, and i've also tried using the soft knob destination as well, but none of them allow me to record automation.
the whole idea is, yeah, i could do it live and record, but i'd like to go in and draw in automation myself and edit it manually.
i know alot of you are pretty smart and i've seen some crazy workarounds on this forum, so maybe there is something that i missed?

dont right click on the knob in clock mode...click on the right click menu with the time......

i'm sorry that doesn't even make sense to me
:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused: :confused::confused:
i'm guessing this is something that makes me look totally dumb so i apologize.

lol...

ok...
When in Clock Mode
on the right of the Lfo rate knob, where u choose the waveform for Lfo, look under S&H and S&G.
it says sine or triangle in words.Under that it says CLK off or 1/64 or 1/32 or 1/16 or 1/8 or 1/4 or 1/2......
that is the menu that you right click on and say automate ....

get it ???
:D

I recently had to figure this out as well...

if you use Cubase (like me) you have to go into the VST instrument itself and select what you want to automate (there should be a drop down menu in the automation lane) select LFO2 CLOCK RATE or something like that

took me about 2 hours to figure all that out lol

hope that was helpful

i figured it out, but i've noticed that cubase will only catch the change during certain lfo rates, and then i can get into the automation lane and automate them manually.
from what i understand, it's still not working properly.

does it wing around too fast to actually control with a knob?

you can adjust that

my main issue is that every now and again, I load in my project and all the automation lanes say "not mapped" when I had them mapped before

so if I write automation... I export to wav, immediately

I am not using a DAW...I try to automate the LFO rate via my Elektron Machinedrum...but it will never automate if the LFO is synced to clock.

Any ideas?

shaneynclan, you are experiencing a very annoying problem. I too love to automate clock synced LFOs in softsynths, and it seems very odd that Access would allow the Virus LFOs to be automatable when in Free mode.
Ive been annoyed by this since the Virus C.
