Rom banks T-Z?

Just curious what's going on which these. I tried searching couldn't find anything.

you can load full banks into them with VCC software that comes with the OS update.

Cool OK, is there any limitations in filling these banks up? I thought I remember hearing something about it limiting something. Thanks for the response.

its like when you load new firmware in the virus, it has to upload in to Eraseable ROM, (and it takes a while)
you cant just edit and save willy nilly like you do in the RAM banks.

if you made 128 of your own voices you could make your own bank and save them to one of those slots and free up the RAM.

You know, the idea of "Read Only Memory" being writeable is... hmm.. :p

Still, it's a pretty cool feature.

Very pleased to learn this thanks, Evil One. I had been wondering how to make use of those ROM banks :D

Erasable ROMs of various types have been around for a while,
its actually "read only unless you really really want to change it, and then it will be slow" memory

Aha, that makes perfect sense. ROUYRRWTCIATIWBS banks T-Z then. =)

... got kinda silly question :)
is there any possibility, that after some count of owerwrites, the ROM memory in TI just will not be function? or it doesn´t matter, and it´s only slow...?

I'm also curious to know the answer to this. I'm also wondering if it's bad to update the OS so often. Could this cause corruption or other data related problems down the road?

Also, while we're on the subject of longevity, does anyone know the type of backup battery in the Virus TI and how long should we go before changing it? Is the procedure difficult? i.e. can it be done by anyone with a screwdriver and gentle hands?
