Virtual analog or true analog?

You tell me. Very impressive.

DEMO 1

DEMO 2

I expect none of you here will be able to tell the difference. I couldnt at first hehe. Just goes to show that software is gettign better all the time.

So what do you guys reckon? Is DEMO 1 or DEMO 2 virtual?

Bollox ive just realised that when u hold the cursor over the link...u'll see at the bottom of the page the link...hmmm that kinda blows it. But at least you can see their aint a huge difference in tonal character.

Software is getting better all the time, but I think you have to play around alot more with software to get it at the same standard with analogue (with bass).

Also try this, do a slow opening filter with an analogue machine over a PC/Mac based software synth. HUGE difference!

yeah with software you can hear that mathematics calculations working :o

i think its a matter of time and cpu power till we see a perfect emulation of analog.
i think an os for just multimedia is needed
just basic graphic support
if you want all the usualy features just installed another os when you arent working.

anyway DSP rox when it comes to performence.
a cheap 133 chip can easly beat a p4 computer.
