Terrible Crash When Modulating An Arp Pattern!!!

Hey duderinos. Last night I was trying some different things with modulating the arp pattern. With several different combinations I got a crash on all voices that resulted in broadband digital static noise on every patch, every voice, and had to reboot. What are my limitations with this mod destination? Any help would be sweeeet. I want to modulate WITH the arp pattern selected. Is this possible?

What synth and sequencer, dude?

what's your modulation source, I've been ok using the mod wheel to change which arp pattern it is using. Virus TI, using multi mode

The synth is the TI 1.2.4. I use Panther OS, not Tiger. No apps, stand alone with QS6 hardware sequencer. I tested this several times. Volume knob doesn't effect volume after this happens on Analog Outputs 1 + 2. I want to use arp pattern as mod source. Is this unreasonable? Thank you kind Vantaa Man!

Is a later OS give you ability to use an arp pattern as a mod source? The possiblities would be endless with that sucker... I am afraid to try anything else on 1.2.4 with the arp pattern modding.

I've asked access for the arp pattern to mod source, as you say the possibilities would be endless, they never said no, so hopefully it is on it's way. I think they were doing loads of work on the new osc's at the time, since they're now out hopefully they're going through the wish list.

The mod wheel or pitch bend is fine for modulating the arp pattern, you're best to use something like that or a square lfo, I think some of the problem comes from sewwping through the arp patterns, if you were say asing a sine wave and that was going slightly faster than the rate at which the arp can change then you'll get this crash. I done it last week and only get success out of using a quick defined change, don't get me wrong one was a change of 64 -user, and for that I used the mod wheel but you get problems with the sweep as I said but if you're quick then you're ok. As for using a square lfo, set it to change per bar or some sort of descent time 1/4 etc then you'll be able to get a good change.

However I'm stamping my feet until we get the arp pattern as a mod source. I have a wishlist on the other forum, have a look, up to about 80 now ;)

cheers
kris

Where is the wishlist on the Ti forum? I haven't seen I yet. Count me in. I'll try the square wave as the source with a regular 1\4 ish interval. That might get me a little closer...

Thanks Bish!
