[solved] Sound problem from midi input on Virus C

Hi

The other day i've connected the Virus C to the pc using an audio interface, and when playing back a midi track from cubase, the virus generated sound, but my K25 midi keyboard did not work in that connection. So i've connected everything through a MOTU 128 midi patch and now my K25 gives signal to my pc and to the virus (i see the note lighting in the display when i play a key), but the virus does not generate any sound, although when i press the audition, it does make sound.

anyone has an idea how to solve this, it would be great.

thx

Is the keyboard transmitting MIDI on the correct MIDI channel #?

please discribe your setup?

how did you connect your keyboard?

your virus might give incoming signal when the keyboard is connected to the thru. A signal will go thru (no more then that, so no copy of the signal goes to your virus), and therefore it will not generate any sound.

Is that of any help?

Maybe check out incoming sysex and (as in the previous post) put the midi channel on omni in your virus, to make sure...

thx for the response
I've connected everything through a different audio interface (UA25EX) and now the midi signal from the cubase midi track as well as my inputs from my keyboard seem to work. I guess it was a matter of the midi word clock (?) and the audio interface now generates the master signal or something. Don't now exactly what it means but hey, everything works now and i'm very happy.
