Howdy!

Hi folks, another n00b here :)

I'm a heavy metal guitarist and sometime synth dabbler, who has recently rediscovered his love of dance music (I was heavily into Techno in my youth!). I've got a few synth related toys but I'm about to get serious about things and invest in a Virus (still undecided about which model, although I tried both a TI and a Classic and I'm finding it hard to justify spending the extra dough! I'm also looking into a used Indigo).

I just thought I'd sign up and lurk for a bit, and hopefully pick up some programming and production tips from you lovely people!

welcome! Good luck on your virus quest and feel free to ask any sorts of questions.

Welcome! :D

welcome, and spend the extra on the TI. Assuming that OS 1.1 fixes everything it will be a solid solid synth, Hard to argue against the wavetables and hypersaw on top of everything the virus classic can do.

Welcome!

If it were me I'd pick up a used C....I know everyone here is hoping OS 1.1 will fix their troubles, but I seriously doubt it will.

See ya around...

Welcome aboard buddy

- my vote goes for a used virus c

Welcome Danny,

I would also suggest a Virus C - especially when there are these new VST editors for them, although it doesn't look like you use a sequencer?

I'm using Cubase SX at the moment. Mostly I record MIDI from my K-Station into that, then use the piano roll to fix the timing and velocity mishaps! I might hold fire on my purchase until TIOS 1.1's been out for a couple of weeks, just to see how things progress. Also, I might be able to get a very good price on a Classic, so that might sway my choice too.

And I'll pass on the XL - not enough knobs ;)

P.S. Cheers for the warm welcome everybody! You're much friendlier than the Harmony Central lot ;)
