Does anyone use the virus as a soundcard
Do many of you use the virus as a soundcard, or do most of you generally have another soundcard as well
hmm that many eh
Im using it right now and getting less latency on the input than I was getting on the fast track pro. I have my little phatty in the one input and my Se1x in the other.
I use it as a soundcard when I don't wanna tug around my rack-mounted one. I notice pops and clips once in a while as apposed to none with my sc.
right now i'm using it as a sound card...but i dont know how to run sound from my mp3 winamp etc....i only know how to get audio from the DAW through it...through the asio drivers....
It beats my shitty E-MU 0202 USB, so yes. Less pops+clicks, lower latencies, and less CPU usage than what I could get with the 0202
I use my Access Virus as a soundcard. I run my other synthesizers through my Mackie 24 8 mixer and then into the Virus.
If you get these pops you can try to turn off and on your Virus. I do not get them to often though. |
i do cos the Virus is all distorted when playing via my M-audio FW ASIO.
Not sure why it sounds so horrible, but I've given up trying to work it out...i wasn't getting any music done...just getting angry :-x Audio from the Virus sounds fine though, no different to the NRV10 anyway. |
Yes. Generally it works well, sometimes get the odd issues with sample rate getting confused when I switch between ASIO and DirectX drivers, and on my new i7 motherboard, there have also been issues with the Virus not being detected properly unless the Virus is switched on/off, but otherwise no problems.
yup, i use mine as a soundcard when I am on the road. I have to keep the latency a bit higher than my echo layla, but it works pretty well without too many pops and clicks.
sure, I use my Polar as a sound card, its the only soundcard I have and I think the converters are pretty good.
Yes, I use my Snow as a soundcard. As I didn't have a good quality portable soundcard for use with my netbook/laptop, this feature was a big draw for me and helped justify the cost of the TI. I can completely understand, however, that many people who already have a good portable soundcard view this functionality as unnecessary/a bit odd.

agreed The sound card function is a great bonus! It works so beauty. |
soundcard
Down side is that you must switch on the TI , when i want to use it as a soundcard for ie games then i would not have a need to have the TI switched on. Isn't there a standby mode? if not wouldn't that be a good upgrade?
Any way i have the problem that i can not use it with ie Adobe Audition to record wav's eventhough i selected the TI for inputs. I want to be able to record external gear or audio from dvd's without daw but Audition gets no audio in. Do i have to revert to my edirol ua25 again to do this? |
