What is your favorite feature on the TI ?
What is your favorite feature on the TI ?
one thing that u just love about your synth....something that u use very often..? |
Unison, it gives a nice charm over the sound
|
1- Unison: really convenient to fatten a sound
2 - Wavetable: give a special crisp in the sound and can give a lot of expression 3 - Matrix: this part is the heart of the virus imho |
THE FILTERS! Too bad I can't use them with sidechaining on other elements of my tracks outside of the Virus, I'm sure they would do wonders on my breaks or samples played back through Halion for example.
Cubase user here, that says it all I'm sure... |
The VC Plugin Guys!!!!! Its what seperates the TI from any other synth out there. Total Intigration. That and the unique Virus Sound.
|
i'm really liking the tape delay features....doppler ,clocked and free....
some really cool sounds are possible with it... |
It has to be the effects particularly the TI's ability to keep the effect setting of each individual patch even in SEQ or Multi Mode. This is very cool.

got to luv that Semitone knobby wobby
|
I LOVE the fact the knobs interpolate for eliminating audible midi 'stepping'. If only other companies implemented this. The knobs/potentiometers themselves also feel very professional and tactile in use. Other synths knobs feel plasticky and have a tendency to 'jump' several midi steps if you try to tweak them just a tiny amount.
I like the EGs. The envelope curves make things sound weighty rather than ineffectual compared to other synths, very professional. I like the fact the detune is logarithmic, you get lots of detail for tiny detuning in the first half turn of the knob. The Mod Matrix. Extremely flexible. LFO one-shot modes. For more EGs if needed. The Filters sound fantastic. Add resonance, saturation and distortion and you can really torture it. The Unison sounds great and smooth. Nice stereo operation too. The Phaser - love it. And the ambience Reverb. |
Wavetables.

Flashing logo.
|
Hypersaw & unison, the mod matrix, the dark thunderous sound in the lower notes and the screeching sound on the higher ones.
|
The filters, especially the 'analog mode' 4-pass filter.
... and the mod-matrix. |
Timo pretty much covered my list, I'll just add two things:
- Virus Control...the speed and convienence has totally spoiled me for every other hardware synth. As Robert Rodreguiz (sp?) said about his editing studio: "It's all about moving at the speed of thought" - The fact that everytime I pull it out of the case at a gig, I get swarmed by every other keyboard player and electronic musician there :) ...now if I could just get the same reaction from the women at the gig, I'd be golden  |
