Hi Hek, can you be a bit more descriptive? It turns on and displays patch info, then turns off?

And the glitch sound that comes out of your monitors... Is it just a one-off bassy "woOMPH" sound as you turn it on? If so, that's pretty normal.

Welcome to the forum btw.

Hek Morales 16.06.2009 10:35 PM

Like i turn it on and the it kind of turns off but with the display still on with all the info and then it turns on again and makes this sounds but like pure noise and then starts all over again ,:|

Sonis 17.06.2009 07:28 AM

What virus model do you have and what OS version are you using?

Have you tried a system reset? Save all your patches first. Turn off the Virus (by pressing both transpose buttons). Once the Virus is off, press and hold down the 'Arp Edit' button. Everything will return to factory default settings.

Or you can update the TI to the latest firmware. The latest version is v3.0.3.00

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIRRRRRDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Hek Morales 17.06.2009 07:26 PM

This is what access support told me..............

Dear Hector,
The problem simply is that I can't tell what might have caused this in the first place.
Regarding the noise burst problem: this is a known issue and we're working on it. When this happens the TI emits a short noise and all LEDs go out for a moment. We try to fix this a.s.a.p.

Best wishes,
Joerg Huettner

Sonis 17.06.2009 09:03 PM

You might have to wait a while I've been having stability problems with my TI2 Desktop since I bought it. (the LEDs all going out and the noise burst is the virus crashing). It seems to have actually gotten worse with the more recent OS updates too.

What virus model do you have?

Hek Morales 17.06.2009 10:33 PM

The virus ti desktop v1 i think

If you have an original TI Desktop, you can downgrade to 2.7.5 for the time being.

Hek Morales 18.06.2009 09:54 PM

whats the difference between the 3.0 to the 2.75??

I'm not I stopped using the virus until access fixes shit. It was ruining my flow having it just crash while I was in the middle of working on a song, totally made me not want to keep working. So I have it shelved until it's fixed.

You have a TI1 so you're lucky and are able to downgrade and at least use 2.7.5 until OS3 is fixed. The TI2 can't downgrade past OS3 so I'm SOL until it's fixed.

There's new distortion and a couple new/changed effects in OS3 but that's about it aside from the UI redesign if I remember right.

Hi

Yes, I am also experiencng this nonsense. I am just glad I do not play live or Id be picking rotten tomatoes out of my keys right now

Stimulatormusic 01.07.2009 11:06 PM

I've got the same problems here too.

Virus shuts down every 15min, sometimes 30min if i am lucky :(

Please Access fix this issue!

Hek Morales 02.07.2009 05:57 AM

whats happening!!!!!!!!!!1 lol

when it starts to do this its usually afetr the 8 flash of the BPM led

so before that i change rams and patches continiously and that proceduro sometimes makes it stay on and work fine

HostileReality 02.07.2009 11:38 PM

Mine is doing this, i think it seems to sound the same from your descriptions.. however i'm lucky in that it doesnt do it that often for some reason. Like it might only do it once every 8 hours at a guess. How i would describe it: i hear a horrible static, crackly noise in my headhpones, then look at the virus and see that all the LED's are off, but the screen is on. Then after a few seconds the sound stops and the virus goes back to normal and is ok. Im using Cubase 5, windows vista 32bit.

7G 03.07.2009 06:23 AM

Same thing here with Ableton Live 8.0.4 and latest TI OS in stand alone mode...

Sonis 03.07.2009 08:27 AM

I'm 100% positive that the crashing problem is the virus hardware itself and nothing to do with the computer (in my case at least) because if I disconnect the USB cable and do a factory reset it will still crash after a few minutes/hours (depending on it's mood of course).

Sonis 04.07.2009 03:11 AM

Okay this is getting ridiculous, just fired up the virus to have a play around and it crashed 3 times within a 10 minute time span before i just unplugged it and decided to find something else to do.

DiScO 05.07.2009 09:49 AM

I'm still getting this too. It's not as frequent as it was before, but still happens in either standalone or VC mode. The blast of noise is the worst part about it for me. I'm on 3.0.3.00.

Warren_UK 06.07.2009 10:09 PM

I've just read this thread and cleared up a thing or two. I'm also getting the crashing, noise coming out of the outputs like static for 5 seconds and all the LED's going off. I thought my virus TI was seriously ill. I'm using it in stand alone mode too.

I was using OS 3.0.1.15, but have just downgraded to 2.7.5. Now I have a weird problem, the transpose +2 LED is constantly blinking! Could the crashing have messed up an LED do you think?

I think this was a OS related issue...i bet if you go to OS 3.0.3 the problem will be gone.

Oh right cheers, hopefully thats the case.

Does anyone know if the latest official OS or beta OS stops the crashing?

Hek Morales 07.07.2009 05:12 PM

i have the latest and it still crashes

Prime NL 07.07.2009 05:51 PM

I was reacting on the part Warren was talking about : the transpose +2 LED is constantly blinking!

Normally the latest OS should stop the spontaneus Virus crashing...but it differs with every persons Virus.
My desktop stopped crashing after this update.

I guess that the best thing to do now is contact the Acces helpdesk about your problem....even though they do not really have a solution to the problem...the more people are reporting the problem...the quicker they will come with a solution as they will see that it is really getting to be a big issue.

HostileReality 19.07.2009 02:37 PM

So has this been fixed in the new beta? i cant really be bothred installing it unless it has... cheers

Thats the solution to our problem !!!
We all need to register there and and report it, otherwise they'll consider
it as a " minor problem".

So its now on us to make them work on that problem, as I got it too.

I got mine yesterday and after updating to 0s.3 and testing it for an hour hour or so, the leds started to go crazy and the Virus went off and on several times, but no sound could be heard anymore and no control or button did response. When it rebooted , only 3 red 3 and the white leds
lid statically after it shut down again.
After 5 crashes, it heard a horrible noise crash sound trough my speakers; actually very loud. It was the most depressing sound i have ever heard and i sat terrified at my desk, staring at an instrument I had just spent 1700eu
and that i could never use live because of that.Because it's actually a common problem and happens regularly.
Let's say, I am disappointed and angry.
I hope they can fix it, that's why we need to report it to them.

I have actually spoken to Access Music a number of times, they have always returned my calls, and they are completely aware of this very very beyond inconvenient Operating System problem that causes The TI series to crash. They were very genuine in their apology and said that are diligently working to try and get this remedied as soon as possible.

Basically the explanation for not COMPLETELY debugging the O/S was that they released the TI mk.II series a bit premature.

Anyway Access Music told me, that the more people that contact them and give them a detailed synopsis of the circumstances surrounding the crash will help them in getting a good and STABLE O/S as soon as possible, as this problem is really blowing their reputation as a rock solid synthesizer craftsmen. I am just gnawing at the bit, because my Virus (TImk.II 61 key) is sooooo badass and has become my favorite synth, except of course for the whole crashing thing.

I have this problem to.(Os 3.0.3.00) Every now and then my Ti Polar(v1) turns off and on for a few seconds (while it plays something) making an ugly sound on my speakers. The good thing is that when i press stop and play on my Cubase5 works like it never happened, sometimes some sounds don't work (if i use more than one usb out) but if i ''save as'' and exit Cubase next time my project plays normal. Oparating sys WinXP pro sp3 x86.
