OS 3.0.3 (not public beta) now available!

Just read about this on Twitter. Apparently the main website hasn't even been updated yet, but the downloads are available.

Cool! Change log file doesn't say much though.

Thanks for that. Added to Infekted front page.

Installed ok on a MacPro 10.5.6 with Logic8.02 with 3.0.115 running on the TI desktop. Firmware upgrade went through fine and then restarted. Then kicked off logic and it started scanning the two new components - then unexpectedly OSX popped up the hold the power button down hard-reset message.

So I restarted, loaded up logic, started scanning the components again, and seemed to take about 30 secs with the virus flashing a few times - screen and LEDS. then it loaded up fine into Logic.

Is the Virus Control Centre new? Never noticed that before.

So far so good otherwise.. :)

TheHobbit 29.05.2009 09:33 PM

Is there any news or enlightenment regarding the VSTi side chaining support in Cubase...would really like to know as getting close to the edge of shelling out for another sequencer - money I would rather put towards some hardware ;)
Thanks

Sonis 30.05.2009 02:43 AM

Crash problem is even worse now with 3.0.3, went fine for about an hour, then it crashed once and kept crashing, over, and over, and over. Not even 30 seconds between crashes after the first one. Did a factory reset. Crash. Crash. Crash.

This is getting ridiculous to be honest.

Humm I waiting for the feedback of the Snow'users, I don't want to be again and again a bêta tester. That very boring that Access Music can't give a stable OS like 2.75 when they make a new OS, the other manufacturers of synthetizers do not have as many problems.

Isn't we already rather expensive pay these fabulous machines, why Access Music rotten to make a stable OS as of its out? I imagine the frustration of the users of the TI2 which paid their Virus expensive and cannot even install version 2.75.

They must wait more than 3 months to have finally something of functional. Because much of people buy today a Virus TI for precisely using the function "TI". Very little use it on "Hardware". In any case it's the report which I make.

Cause TI OS 2.75 is all you deserve. Respect the fact that, they brought out OS 3.XX and allowed all TI users to upgrade and use it for free. Complete OS revisions are usually not free with other companies.
A stable OS lasts for years to come, so appreciate the fact that they undergo such intensive Beta testing.
No other company offers TI. So, quit whining.

So for you it is normal to buy a machine with cost more than 2800$ by having an unstable os???

And when you buy a new car with a defective engine, what do you do?

I have anything against that Access Music improves the OS of TI with new functionality. I do not find simply normal that their new models leaves each time with a new OS not finished, each year it's similar.

After the extensive betas, the latest OS v3.0.3.00 isn't a beta - it's a full release. They clearly feel the OS is mature and stable enough for everyone to use.

If you will feel more comfortable to wait until people have installed and road tested v3.0.3.00 for a while, then that's a given option for you.

What problems have you encounted with earlier v3.x.xx versions? Those issues may well have since been fixed.

I've been using the betas with Snow here. VST3 version has some problem but VST2.x version worked fine here for quite a while.

Berni 30.05.2009 06:37 PM

Arps are STILL out of sync in the mac/RTAS version

Natspace 30.05.2009 08:33 PM

The only thing that I've seen with this new version is the message alert "A sync error occured...." it's happen sometimes when I change patch in real time (when my sequencer is playing) by clicking in the browser of the TI software. Is it a bug or it's normal, because I never seen that with the 2.75?

This is a feature that was introduced in version 3 to make you aware of a loss in sync. The message as such is not an error. Whether the cause could be regarded as an error is debatable I guess.

Natspace 31.05.2009 09:05 AM

I find only one bug for the moment with Atomizer, the D1 effect "Reverse Audio" doesn't work, the rest is ok. When I try to push to the D1 note there is nothing happen.

Slyde 31.05.2009 09:50 AM

Hmmm, noticed that audio in stops working everytime I stop the transport in Logic 8.02. Have to reset from Static to off to Static again to get it going. Total nuisance.

Here works fine, do you press any other key while pressing D1? Reverse means you have to press D1 + any other atomizer key to reverse audio, unfortunately the manual isn't very explanatory regarding this combination.

Ooh snap!, thank Diy for your tip, yes now it works

To Access Music: You should better to indicate this in your Atomizer's manual

altunamusic 01.06.2009 12:05 PM

Hi guys,

Too sad... i got very heavy latency since i upgrade to 3.03 and also.. Midi Channels Crash with each other on multiple mode :( :(

I use Logic Pro.8 n M-audo FW410 as soundcard...

anyone can help me out?

Thank you

Cantankerous 01.06.2009 01:29 PM

Hmmm, that introduced latency strikes me. I thought I noticed the same thing. Not a HUGE deal but definitely noticeable over previous OS versions which didn't seem quite as 'slow' to respond. I am running my ASIO drivers at 256 buffer size and am getting 5ms latency.

civan 01.06.2009 08:59 PM

After installing the 3.03 release I went back to work on my current project. I'm running maybe 10 different TI channels but not all at once. Some of the channel have maybe 4 sources of automation at most. My Cubase still quits unexpectedly and also during live play, notes will drop from some of the more complicated lines.

I noticed a new problem with my Polar TI|2. While playing live, I was changing patches and messing around with the knobs under the LCD. The patch would play at first but then as soon as I moved the knob the value indicator would show some thing in the display like "32!5" and then the sound for that channel would disappear. I distinctly remember the exclamation mark. Weird stuff... and I can't recreate this problem.

civan 03.06.2009 05:20 AM

Oh so everything must be working perfectly for everyone else?

Monobeat 04.06.2009 05:18 PM

I installed with no problems but when i opened a track in Logic and played it the virus was out of tune.
I tried all the normal things ie checked the sample rate and transpose but all was fine so its back to the beta for me.

Did you also reset the Virus after the update? Mostly this works (Holding down the ARP Edit button while powering up)

Yes this out of tune issue appeared quite alot in the earlier Beta's, and I can confirm holding Tap Tempo during startup clears it

Hi,

i just downloaded and installed Virus Control 3.0.3.00 from the access website (
http://www.access-music.de/downloads.php4?product=virustidesktop#cat18)

I did not uninstall the previous version (2.7.5) but the installation went fine.
When i load a project in Cubase4, the midi timing is off sometimes  never had this problem...
got my Snow connected trough usb (midi and audio).
With the previous VC i had no problems whatsover.

Any tips or advice?

I will test it on Live 8.03 soon

is this the same with the Snow?

HUEY 09.06.2009 09:04 AM

I read somewhere on this forum that's the "tap tempo" button instead of the ARP edit button.
I'm not sure, I don not have a snow

Natspace 09.06.2009 01:51 PM

Unplug the power from your Virus TI Snow and remove any other cable going from/to the TI Snow. Wait approximately 30-60 seconds. While plugging back in the power only, hold down the EXIT button. This will force the unit into USB BIOS UPDATE MODE. Next try again to load in the very latest OS 3.0.3

;)

This is not the same as resetting your Virus.
