Alan-M Virus TI Trance Patches v1.0

I hate to join to immediately post this, but oh well. Before it gets spammed, this is a name your own price offering. The recommended price is $25.00, but you may enter whatever you like (0.00 on up).

Description :
128 Access Virus TI optimized patches for your Virus synthesizer. This bank is unlike anything ever released for the Access Virus as it is the first patch bank to feature the sounds of Anjunabeats, Armada, Flashover, and those they have influenced.

The standard patch bank has no settings for delay / reverb / EQ. This is because those settings should be done on a project-by-project basis. However, included is a patch bank containing the exact patches I used for the audio demo.

Thank you Alan for making this possible....8)

Good luck with the sales... :)

Judging from the MP3s you're a talented programmer, Alan!

If only I had a TI. Ho hum.

alanzo 05.12.2008 01:14 PM

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I hope those of you with a Virus TI are enjoying the bank. :D

Any word on whether or not Virus TI banks work on earlier Virus models?

richie 08.12.2008 02:37 PM

This is the best trance bank ever thanks

I bought this bank earlier today and must warn anyone considering them that they are extremely plain on their own. Alan does tell you they are without effects, but this does mean you need to apply talent and skill to bring life to them. I consider them worth having, but they are not inspiring and ready to go - something which several other commercial banks offer.

My hats off to Alan's skill, because the demo shows what can be achieved with the patches.

Cheers,
B

Thus being why I didn't include any FX. Things like reverb/delay/EQ should be done on a project-by-project basis. If someone is not willing to do this, why did this person invest in a $2,000 instrument?

Initially I was going to include FX settings, but the Virus began to feel more like a DAW than an instrument.

LivePsy 10.12.2008 09:52 PM

Why are FX build into the TI and so many VSTi's? Because they are integral to the sound. Not some reverb or delay on the end, but an essential part of the sound. Some commerical banks use heaps of internal TI effects because that is the sound the designer was trying to emulate or the designer liked. It sets the patch in an environment where I can hear what it is capable of, and then decide how I would like to modify both the synth parameters and the FX to fit my music.

I am enormously impressed with your Nord 3 bank from the sound of the demo track. Because a NL3 doesn't have effects, your bank is obviously FX free. But in the case of the TI, it should utilise the included effects.

I'm sorry to talk your product down, but someone looking for ready to go patches could be disappointed in your bank.

Regards,
B

I'll still be getting this Alan, as soon the funds allow it, as promised on Anjuna! :)

FX or not...

alanzo 11.12.2008 02:07 PM

To continue on why I chose to not include FX, I found that it was quite easy to have two patches that were actually identical sounds, but were completely different because of the delay/reverb/EQ. This was something I wanted to avoid.

I stick to my decision to not have FX on the patches and I'd do it again.

i got to say i like it, some nice liquid type lead in there, basses could be fatter, nice plucks and pads. definately worth it.

btw what other commercial banks are there?
ive only really come across the vengeance ones but i think theyre too expensive and some sounds are a little dated now.

Hi all, first time poster here (trying to keep my lurker account alive :D).

I may be reading it wrong but in Alan's original post it says:

'However, included is a patch bank containing the exact patches I used for the audio demo.'.

I took it you get two banks, one plain and one with sounds only and one with the effects applied (on those sounds that were used in the demo song). Obviously, not all sounds are effected since i have a hard time believing that all sounds were used in the demo.

So if my understanding is correct there are effected sounds but not all of them. My question then is: How many of the 128 sounds are effected in the extra bank?

Apart from that i have to say that the demo is really good. Style and sound wise i think you nail the genre. Funny that i haven't been here for at least 1-1.5 month and i got the email about the account today. While listening to Above & Beyond's Tri-State i go to the first forum thread i see and find your sounds mentioning Anjunabeats as a style influence :D

:D

32 -- For the demo, I used two instances of the Virus|Control plugin, each maxed out to 16 patches.

tmb 11.12.2008 06:14 PM

I understood correct then :D

Thanks for the quick reply.

Btw, if you haven't already done so (or made covers) you should make real songs of those demo parts :D Some really nice sequences there.

djmac 12.12.2008 02:34 AM

I agree with 'Live PSY' over here. I bought the soundset thinking to be the same as the demo but a little bit disspointed but hey probably I'll learned a little bit about TI trying to tweak the patches. But next time I will wait for some more feedbacks 8)

Mr Ben 12.12.2008 06:39 PM

Nice one for this man.
I'm gonna have fun with this lot

BTW the audio demo sounds wicked.
