Slow Load for Virus TI control
Not sure if I'm the only one with this problem. I have Logic 8 on a imac 2.4 with 4 gigs of ram. Everytime i bring up my virus through Logic it takes about 1 minute or 2 to load. Any reason why?
please help! |
have a much slower PC and loads up quite fast ...
the only thing that took a while is, when it was syncing patches. is there any status display, or is it just hanging?? |
it hangs with out the screen shot of the virus loading..pretty weird this started happening after the beta's update. I'm pretty lost and I'm just dealing with it at the moment but would like a solution. Bleh! hah.
Thanks for the reply! |
perhaps try a different usb port? I know that shouldn't make a difference, but perhaps the sync between the interface and the ti hardware is being held up across the port you are currently using.

possible solution
try to uninstall it (and verify manually, that all related files are really gone - just midi files left untouched, of course)
... and then update to OS version 2.7.2.0 or 2.7.3.0 final. think there might be two installations in place, if it already hangs before the "loading ..." screen. when the issue was introduced by the beta version ... you still could switch back to OS 2.5.1 even, just as a test to see if something changes (only if latest OS will behave the same). by doing so, you could also try another USB port, as Doc Jones said. |
Confirming the above said problem, Its been taking 2 to 3 minutes to load the VC. I'm also using Logic with powerbook G4.

Many thanks! removing and re-installing worked!. Thanks for everyone's reply!
Now I will enjoy =D |
Takes 2 minutes to load everytime, i tried uninstalling and re-installing, same thing, this prolonged loading didn't happen before the last beta and the 2.7.3 updates.

did you verify that the uninstall removed all the related files (except the *.mid patches)?
|
dunno, do you have a list of 'all related files' i ran the uninstaller, then searched for all things 'virus' and all things 'access' what do you recommend?
|
just open a filebrowser and go to the directory where it installs to and where it puts the RTAS plugin to ... have no mac, so i cannot tell in detail.
when you install and then search for * (sorted by date descending) ... it should show the locations. |
i just did this again, just for laugh's and giggles, followed your advice, then also went thru all my folders and places for everything that happened after the install time, trashed all those, pretty certain i got everything. Re-installed, re-booted computer, re-booted Logic and TI and got same issues,2 1/2 -3 minute load time, so i dunno, guess thats just the way it's supposed to be.Guess i'll just put the kettle, read some magazines or whatever else you can do in 2-3 minutes and come back ready to work after a bit.

use the uninstaller which is located in the same directory where the control center is. then repair permissions, than reboot, than install 2.7.3 then make sure you do an AU scan in logic (trigger it manually if you have to). if that all doesn't help, get in touch with access support. hth, marc |
