A new flat

You can keep my things, I'm gonna get me home...

Finally! An almost disastrous moving project is at end. I got rid of my Kuusankoski flat and got a new (it's concretically new, just renovated) flat in Koivukylä Vantaa.

I've been living in my friends' and relatives' flats during my studies here in Vantaa. I couldn't get a flat of my own until now due the apartment problem in Kouvola region. Now it's over and I'm really happy! I can't wait to see the new flat.

But what made the move operation almost disastrous?

1) The old flat should be empty today.
2) I got the new flat in a nick of time last wednesday.
3) I rented a moving van and on the delivery realised that the previous renter obviously had driven it down a cliff or something.
4) Finally I realised I couldn't get to fetch the keys to the new flat from the rental office. I had a van full of stuff and no keys... Fortunately my mother-in-law managed to persuade the hag at the rental office to give her the keys.

What a relief all this crap is finally over. I hated the homeless life of past half years. Now I can finally start to terrorise OVM. I should have done that earlier but the circumstances prevented me from executing effective terror.

I'll send some pics from the new dungeon when I'll get everything organised.

Congrats Juha. I'm thinking of renting an apartment later this year, I think it is probably time to fly from the nest.

Thanks! So far the flat seems perfect. I hope the sun shines to the window so I can get my chili grow well.

P.s. And it's Juho to you, bub!

Nice use of apostrophes in those possessive plurals there mate.

Come over for tea and biscuits next week.

Seems like everyone is moving! Ah, great year of moving as the chinese would say!

My brother bought a house outside of Stockholm. Me, Ausa and Nova will be moving soon aswell to a smaller apartment since one of our bedrooms isn't used at all and all that we got in that room is junk (scanner, a kitchentable, a couple of chairs and some other stuff) and our neighbours is in need of an bigger place.

So we started to talk about switcing apartments and just by doing that me and ausa will save around 30.000:- SEK (€3160/$4777) / year. Add the simple fact that our apartment uses electricity as George W. Bush uses the word "Terrorist" and making some adjustements with Nova's daycare and that sum will go up to around 45.000:- SEK / year that we save..

But then again when we save this much money we will probably getting a better insurance for our car and so on so..

Sebastian, get rid of everything you are not using or have not used in the last year, then move. The last thing you want to do is move shit from one place to the next and then six months later throw it out. Get rid of your junk! I'm still trying to get rid of my junk! Argh!! ;)

OVM and Juha in the same town? Welly, welly well, looks like I am taking the summer off from school after all. Muhahahaaaaaa.....time for a vacation.

Juho L 06.03.2008 06:19 AM

Moving useless stuff? No, not me. I'm a man of cheap wine and fake cigars. By the way does anyone want three boxes of electronics junk?

What the heck is the deal with this Juha syndrome you guys have! Everywhere I go it's Juha this and Juha that. People are stupid and I don't want to play with them anymore!

Good luck to 3o3 with the new apartment.

Where are you gonna put this junk in your new place?

3o3 06.03.2008 05:57 PM

Alex: Aye, I know! When me and Ausa moved last time we filled one car with.. junk! It was insane how much stuff you acctually got in your den.

Anyways, we just talked to the neighbour and it seems like we are moving in the end of April or start of May so it feels bloody great.

Juha (hoho): That is probably the best picture I've ever seen and my "Return of the King"-scenario was probably best explained with that picture.

OVM: the 2-year-old will probably be placed in the closet and my experiment with raising a child in a closet for 30 years while praising the good ol' end of the world-scenario and on my deathbed I'll say; "Suprise, I lied".

Feels bloody great people!

I'm scared shitless of having to move again, which will happen as we are renting, as we have accumulated so much junk in the past six years. It might be easier just to start a fire, burn everything claim the insurance and by everything new again.

Now that's a plan! Flick your Bic!

;)

a little in late but... this is a good new! I'm working myself on the old grandma's house where I'll have to go in a few years (now I just found a new job http://www.hmsgroup.com/ here so prepare yourself to a new titanic tragedy).
Regards, Lorenzo

Old Vantaa Man 07.03.2008 03:31 PM

That sounds great, Lorenzo. Great company. I mean having your Grandmother for company. Not that company you're going to work for. That looks worse than Jase's job.

Did someone mention work?

I just found out I'm going to Africa at the end of the month, to meet with the outgoing President of Botswana. That should be pretty interesting

Jase, be careful, make sure that you're not going to be the main course at his farewell dinner. Beware of skinny chefs, or women with tattos of daggers on their bodies...

3o3 21.03.2008 12:43 AM

And it's all set! We are officially outta here.. well, not for another couple of weeks but everythings signed, sealed and kissed.

Feels rather odd to acctually leave this apartment that's been my "official" home for 23 years now. Then again, since I grew up in this apartment aswell as the simple fact that I became the offical "owner" of this place just last year makes people still think that it is theirs (speaking of me family now)..
