Well, now that the poorer teams have been eliminated, What predictions for the semis?

England - France? Er.. England. Or France.

Still can't believe Wallabies and All Blacks are out.

Rugby. Where large, inbred men are allowed to touch each other on the field and make a living. I'd like to see Argentina win. I've thought about retiring there someday. The British and the French can piss off.

It's not the "British", dear Al. It's England. The Scots got kicked out last weekend by Argentina, and Wales didn't get past the first round group stage.

I know next to nothing about rugby excpet what the refs do when they kick it through the field goals.

They're linesmen. And you're thinking of a conversion. <shakes head and chuckles in superior manner at yank ignorance..>

Rugby's pretty simple. You can only pass the ball backward by hand, though you can kick it forwards. Basically, you always have to be behind the ball to be onside and take part in any play. Then you can only tackle the player holding the ball.

BOKKE BOKKE BOKKE!!!! :D i'm an honourary south african and was thrilled to see the best team of the tournament join australia as the only nation to have twice held the cup. not only was open, imaginative and creative rugby rewarded, but a lovely result all round in terms of south african unity during difficult times.

oh and any sport where england gets the shit kicked out of them by a former colonial possession is naturally uber-enjoyable ;)

SA had by far the easiest qualifying for the final. Would've been nice to see you play at least one of All Blacks, Aussie or France.

You hardly kicked the shit out of us (England) though mate! It could've been much different if not for a dodgy penalty (your 2nd) and a try that could easily have been given as not.

Credit's due though. Boks were the better team, but open, imaginative and creative rugby? BOLLOCKS!
