The way these requests work best is if you can link to an example of the audio you would like to know how to recreate.

If you can demonstrate the sound you want then you are more likely to get a positive response than if people have to go searching for the sound in question.

If its the sound I am thinking of its just a crappy gated filtered saw. There are a bunch of presets that come with the virus that sound just like this. Use the arp or an lfo to create the gate and filter change.

I actually heard the same sample being used in another song on the radio (uk bbc radio 1) not sure what the song was,

However I think the origianl poster is now running scared ;)

i love how not one single person has given this guy a decent answer to his question. maybe you dont like justin timberlake but hes not the one making the patches in "his" songs. by the way i really like the production on that song. its simple but very effective and i love the sound of the saw pad we're speaking of. as for all the assholes who ragged on this dude for askin the question, dont say anything next time if its not going to be helpfull. this forum is for helping people answer their questions, not bashing. and i still want to know how to make that sound.

You would get a serious answer if you simply provided us with a audio sample of the synth sound.
Link us to a clip from a online record store or upload a small section from your cd or whatever.

You cant expect a serious answer if you dont show anyone the sound in the first place

As for Justin Timberlake...i'm not really a fan. But I'll admit that the production is pretty tight and his new album has alot of transitions and has some nice sounds.

But the question is "does he really do all that work himself?" I doubt it.
Probably has a great team. Plus damn the guy is a millionaire. I think he can afford a great team. Just my two cents....please don't flame me. LOL!

Although that could be a big sample.

yes it is true one thing that timberlake has got big daddy production team which pays them fortune to do the editing, all arrangments -job instead of him, but he is a great performer, great singer, no matter what you think he sing like gay (iand post), like pussy, but for me he is great singer that is all that matters, lot of pepole are jelaous, and the sound of that song is great for me, and he as artist is great allround singer.i listen metal music and write hardcore music myself, but what is important is music itself, the vibrations which impulses you is it reagge, jazz, deathmetal or pop song
