Well what d'ya think?

There is still a bit of work to be done:

• The mp3 player is still waiting on some work from the developer to get it working.
• The Header needs resitting into the page
• The view latest posts needs adding to the default Infekted Red style (ps you can change styles using the dropdown at the bottom of the page).
• The Search pop-up needs adding to the Infekted Red style.
• Some of the arcade games don't post the scores.

...and plenty more - just trying to predict some of the things you may ask about...

Any questions, comments, gripes, suggestions???

Very very cool, nice one drambo...

One thing though, where is the 'view new posts since last visit' button? Thats one of the most frequently used things on a forum.

Also, quick reply didnt seem to work for me. It came up with an error when I tried to post it....might be me being a prick tho :)

The view posts since last visit is on the blue style and will be added onto the red style when I get a minute.

On the blue style it is in the Quick Links pop up.

What error did you get? I noticed some users had problems so I had to shut down for a few minutes - it might have been during this time. I'll keep an eye on it.


EDIT: I've found that it does post using the Quick reply - the screen doesn't refresh though - I'll look into it.

I am sure you are sorted and are more than able to manage this yourself, but just in case - if you require any help or assistance regarding vB please just shout. I have an almost big-boards status forum running on vB and have 4+ yrs experience with the app. Happy to help.

Also - a few things in case you haven't got them in your to-dp list;

New Posts on the new skin
Enhanced Editor - Full WYSIWG editing - is a real bonus to have turned on for users. You get a what you see is what you get interface for posts and is a MUCH better user experience. You may also perhaps wish to turn this feature on for quick editor too.
Smilies - I can't see any? Do you intend keeping this turned off?
Logo - this is not aligning correctly in the header. I would imagine you have added this in the Style Manager logo area - I would actually edit the header template to get this to align correctly. Shout if you want me to do this for you - fee = £000.0000 :)
Main / Forums links in nav bar - there is a mod over on vBAdvanced that will allow you to show Main when on the Forum page, and Forum when on the Main page. No need for both in the nav bar links... so this saves space.
Permissions - in the migration process from phpBB these do not map directly to phpBB usergroups. Shout if you need anything here.

Yes most of those suggestions are on my to-do list and the resolution of them is underway.
Although I wasn't aware of the wysiwyg editor - I will certainly look into that! Any tip on where to find it - the back end of this thing is a beast!

Problems I've noticed so far:

1. The redirceting time from www.infkted.org is rather long... Actually I had to fish out the redirect url from the source code to get here.
2. Avatar placing is annoying. Especially big avatars makes the threads a mess. There are two solutions: Avatar size restrictions (I'd vote for this one! No-one needs planet sized avatars), or the avatar is placed onthe left-hand side of the posting.
3. I had to login twice, but this probably has something to do with my cookie settings.

The redirection is only a temporary thing until Timo has had chance to update the domain name servers.
I agree with the avatar size and will look into enforcing it.

Think it was either 1) my end as it takes a short while for the changes to filter through, or it was 2) your end as it was still redirecting to the drammy URL. However it seems to have gone through now, though, but I can't seem to access the site via http://infekted.org but I can with http://infekted.org/virus instead. With the former, it takes me to the file directory/structure of the site instead.

Drammy - the new posts link in the Red style is not correct. You have either entered the code outside of the current <tr> or not used the correct class.

Ditch it - or let me know if you want the graphic tweaking again...

Personally I think just ditch it and loose the style selector completely.

A white style might work tho - to keep those fashion victim polar users happy ;)

Right - I am off now for a few days with Katie's family. I'll be back for a couple of days before the New Year and then off again for a weeks skiing with our friends in the Italian dolomites(San Martino).

So there won't be any modifications for a couple of weeks, thats why I wanted to get it out a bit early and get the first showstopping bugs out of the way.

As for things like quick reply strangeness, moving the avatars etc... I'll look into them on my return.

I have disabled any links to the Infekted mp3 Player for the time being, until the developer manages to get a couple of bugs fixed...

Anyway, it should be completely useable in its current state.

So have a wicked Christmas everyone and be merry... :confused:

Dram hasn't sorted that yet and has gone off on his Christmas family visiting spree. He will be sorting this apparently upon his return.

Got back last night - have resolved the avatar problem - I think!

Will look into resolving the mp3 player problem before going off on my next excursion...

I promise the intermittent nature of the fixes will finish on the 6th Jan.
