A "World day"
Aye, the title says it all.
Food; Vegitarian Lasagne with Fetacheeze (Italy meets Greece!) Grapes and cheeze (France) Beer; Sapporo (Japanese), Samuel Adams (USA.. I never knew that US acctually made beer that is good, gotta be those Irish in Boston.. atleast that is what it says on the bottle!), Tiger (Thailand), Warsteiner (Germany) & Kung (Swedish, it means King). Every beer was really nice except that Kung-beer which is Swedens cheapest beer and kinda reminds me of sucking sick thru a sock. Wine; Kangoroo (Australia) & Red Folk (South Africa) - Red wine.. Great stuff esp. that Kangoroo-wine! I am now off for some whisky.. Famous Grouse (UK) Excellent evening indeed. |

The worst beer i've tasted thou was an danish beer called; Poseidons Heamd or something like that and it was 19.6% and tasted almost like vodka. I had two-three of those and some wine and spent the night in the bathroom being sick. I forgot to add two more beers I had yesterday; Beer; Lapin Kulta (Finland) & Carlsberg (Denmark). Great evening indeed. |

What's the best local food where you are boys?
For me in Finland, has to be salted salmon. Take a salmon fillet, debone it, cover in thinly sliced garlic and rock salt. Put in a plastic bag and cover with 2 bags of frozen peas or rice or some other not too heavy weight press. Put in the fridge for 24 hours. Take it out and wash thoroughly in cold water. Slice off thin slivers then cover them with fresh dill. Eat on rye bread topped with some creamy creme freche (smetana, it's called here) or boiled egg slices. Edit: Yay for wiki! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smetana_(cream) |

Alright, a small update:
I had beer from: South Africa, England, Irland, Germany, Holland, Thailand & and.. erhm, I can't read whatever it says on the label.. bloody beer! Matsa, drammy & timo: Need tip on ale! |
Well, Boddington's Bitter used to be the great beer when I was a kid (ie, your age). But then it went global and turned into ice-cream. Now, if you can get it, Theakston's:
http://www.theakstons.co.uk/LA/OldPeculier.htm is a great brew. Like most things from Yorkshire, it's mental. BE VERY CAREFUL with this gear. And all northern lads on here will back me up, this beer is lethal. Drink just two of them then try and stand up. Have you got a link to Systembolagets beer selection there Sebastian? I'll have a look at it for ya. Don't get anything brewed further south than Derbyshire, though mate. It's piss. |
http://www.systembolaget.se/SokDrycker/ - there ya go matsa!

Heip? Sebastian.
Sorry, I forgot to reply to this one! You might like to try this one: 11532 Ruddles County Ale Storbritannien Flaska 500 ml (39.00) 19.50 Serve it slightly chilled. Not cold. Very good beer. From as far south as Suffolk, too. They've got Boddington's. Maybe lacking a little in character these days, but still worth a go: 1600 Boddington Storbritannien Burk 500 ml (32.00) 16.50 Drink this one quite cold. Careful not to shake the can. It's got one of those pressurizer things in it. Leave it to stand for at least an hour before you try and open it. Otherwise it will explode. Pour slowly into a rinsed glass. Edit: Just checked those prices. Cheaper than ALKO. Bloody hell! |
I'll will try them when I buy something from Systembolaget!
And yes, not everything is bloody evil about Sweden.. Hehe |
