Jasedee gets a new toy...
I am going to pick it up today...
Anybody care to guess what it is? Well, here is a clue. I have wooden end cheeks, 6 analog voices of polyphony, and was born in 1982 Pics will come later... :) |
Pinokio!
You know that wooden little whining brat who always wanted to be a real boy. I always thought he had only one voice though - albeit an anoying one. |
Juno?

How much did you pick it up for? |

I had another offer from a guy selling his Juno-60, and he wanted AUD$550 for it, but it was up in Brisbane, so I would have had to pay for shipping, plus it didnt have a flightcase, and only a photocopy of the manual, so all in all I reckon I got a good deal. I think they normally sell from around USD$350-500. What would you pay in Japan? Actually, Im a little scared of what your answer would be... probably peanuts compared to what I paid. Now I need to go out and buy a 2 tiered keyboard stand!!! It never ends I tells ya... I have one more synth in my sights, which is a Yamaha DX7, and once I get that, NO MORE FUCKING SYNTHS FOR JASE. Im running out of studio real estate |
I have been keeping an eye for a good one since you mentioned you wanted one a while back. Honestly I haven't seen any that I would put into the clean catorgory though. A few have had the hard cases, but they most were rough either cosmeticaly or functionaly. I even thought about buying a few and building a nice one, but the time wouldn't be worth the resale value.
Not sure if you're too keen on knowing the prices here or not, but mostly they have gone for about the 15000-22000yen price here. That's about $180-$270 roughly in Ausi money at the moment. I don't know how much a mint one would sell for like the one you bought though. They are becoming a rare find it seems. The way I look at it with the older Analogues. If you find a mint one that is perfectly stable even at this age, they are better to buy than the newer analogues. The price you paid would be cheaper than buying something new in the same quality. It's all relative. Let me know if you want me to look out for a DX. There are about half a dozen on the auctions here at the moment. There are a few of the racks as well. PM me if want some links for them. |

Just did the drive out to pick up the Juno! Pics coming soon.... :) |
No problem. You're better off if you can grab it on your home ground - they're heavy bastards and it would cost a pretty penny to send it from here.
|
As promised...

It almost looks like it?s brand new 8O
|
Yeah, looks in great condition.
|
I did give it a bit of a clean...was a bit dusty. So far everything seems to work OK, except the headphone output, which is a bit touchy, and one of the slider caps is missing, but are easily replaced.
The thing is FUCKING HUGE though...I literally dont have any space left in my room |
