My new old toy.

My Hoover machine has now turned into a lunch box! :D

The keyboard was starting to play up, and rather than fix it, I decided to rip the fucker to bits instead!

It was/is a Juno by the way.

jasedee 31.03.2006 11:38 AM

You wierdo!

So, what are you going to do with your new lunch box?

Well as it's working perfectly (which I'm a little surpirsed about after all my tinkering) I'll be using it to make music. :D

mr.e 31.03.2006 11:47 AM

what did you modify other then the shell?

Nothing at all. I have no idea where to start for hardcore modding really.

Like I said, the keyboard was starting to really stuff up and then after pulling it appart it was obvious I couldn't fix it, so rather than have it take up space I just moved the insides into a handy, easy to carry....Lunch box. :D

Ahhh....now we're getting to the bottom of this!

So you really are a wierdo....

Hollowcell 31.03.2006 12:07 PM

Well I try to be Jase. :D

You have to admit though, if this was on the market it would be soooo popular! All these pretty new synths, can keep their flashy lights and pretty paint jobs - Give me stainless steel bolts and a clear lunch box any day!

jasedee 31.03.2006 12:14 PM

Just fuckin around mate....it is very cool!

So is it your Alpha-Juno? And everything is functional (except keys of course) Do you trigger via MIDI controller?

Hollowcell 31.03.2006 12:52 PM

Yeah I know Jase. It IS cool!

Yep it's the AlphaJuno2 and it's completely functional. Works as a midi module now, but I did leave the cables that usually go the original keyboard attached to the main board, so if I want I can plug the module into the origial keyboard it's really simple.

I know it looks a bit messy from the pics, but it is actually neater than it was in the original housing! Definitely is much cleaner now too. Don't realize how filthy synths can get on the inside until you open them up.

yeah... you could just rack it

Hollowcell 31.03.2006 02:23 PM

Hey Nancy, nice of you to chime in. :D

That's exactly why I chose a lunch box which is 47cm. Of course as I'm sure you know, the Junos have an internal power supply, so it's not really possible to go less than 2u as it would heat a little too much.

So where's these tracks of your's me puncy little mate?

Onkel Dunkel 31.03.2006 02:40 PM

You should have gotten one with wheels. Then you could stuff it under the bed when you don?t use it

3o3 31.03.2006 02:45 PM

Hoho, extremly cool!

"What you got for lunch, hc?"
-"Alittle bit of electronics and alot of different sounds"

The great thing is if I do put my real lunch inside it will stay nice and warm while I'm making tunes. Of course you have to have the fire department on auto dial though. :D

Hehehe, that's true!

At least now with a visual threat they know I mean business.

Hollowcell 02.04.2006 12:18 PM

As people were sooo interested in this masterpiece I thought I'd upload a few pics of the Lunchbox in a higher resolution and also in the place where it will rest for the time being. :D

Enjoy, specially you Tommer!

Pics are in the original post at the top.

I'm currently taking offers (will not trade for sex, TIs or food).

jasedee 03.04.2006 02:02 AM

The pics arent showing up here...is it just me?

Hollowcell 03.04.2006 08:06 AM

I'm only allowed a certain number of meg band width from ripway and I think
many people must have viewed this thread over the past 24
hours or someone linked the pics somewhere else (not me).
They'll show up again soon though Jase.

Don't lie HC, give us the details.

You know that there a few of your pubic hairs tangled in the oscillator coils.

For shame!

This goes without saying though Alex. You of all people should know the value of pubic hair when it comes to music hardware!
