OS versions

what OS versions are you guys using out there with more success? bugs vary?

Elektrobolt 27.03.2006 10:57 PM

I have had notes hung a couple of times, but that is it, for me.

i3 28.03.2006 06:03 AM

Ive been testing 1.0.9 and its quit more buggy then 1.0.7 which runs more stable. 1.0.7 doesnt make my leds flicker or make notes hang.

Yes i agree...I tried 1.09 and got hangin notes..Went back to 1.07 straight away...Tried 1.09 a couple of times since just on the off chance and everytime hangin' notes so i went back and am still on 1.07..I don't give a shit what anyone says 1.07 is the most stable to date ...Bring on 1.1 :)

i3 28.03.2006 07:05 PM

now are the majority of you guys using 1.0.9 cuz its more stable for your setup/virus or just because its a new OS access released? I just reverted back to 1.0.7 to compare once again.

this thread is to compare notes and if no one reports what OS and or bugs about current TIOS/setup its useless. we know notes hang so im assuming thats a 1.0.9 bug unless stated otherwise. even the smallest bugs like intermitent LEDS blinking should be reported. we can sit here and bitch bout the updates and wait for 1.1 or figure out what OS works better for your situation. so far 1.0.7 is ideal for my setup and TI.

a vote for 1.09 here.

I have the TI polar, on 1.09.
i rarely have issues, no stuck/hanging notes, no sync loss etc.

Elektrobolt 29.03.2006 12:51 AM

I had notes stuck in previous versions too. Version 1.09 works for me, but I also do not use the Integration part of the TI.

Drammy 29.03.2006 06:16 AM

I'm on 1.09 and find it quite stable. I don't have problems with stuck notes.

I do have 1 irritating problem. When I play a trill (I think thats what its called - many notes played very fast in quick patterns) I find that after playing about the 8th or 9th note of the trill the note doesn't sound at all. I find it easier to recreate this in the top 2 octaves.

At first I was going to put it down to polyphony but that doesn't make sense as if it was polyphony surely one of the first notes to be played would stop instead of the latest note not playing.

Does anyone else experience this? Perhaps this is what is meant by stuck notes?

Access are betatesting their OS (1.09 was finished march 27 and got released march 30). Further, I don't think they would release a suftwareupdate which is buggier than the previous one.

IMHO, swiching back to older OS is just silly

Silly  ...My Ti is running 95 % stable with 1.07,nothing silly about that :?

i3 30.03.2006 02:12 AM

theres to many types of configurations i.e soundcard, drivers, pc specs ect, saying that a newer release of the TIOS would be more stable. I know I run into a host of problems with 1.0.9 then 1.0.7. Silly it is not. I can see a drastic change with my config.

i3 12.04.2006 01:15 AM

the 1.09 hotfix cleared up a host of problems for my config along with the current SX3 update. so far I get a little sync loss and hung notes on occassion and my LEDS stopped the intermittent blinking. :D

I have had very little problems with any of the updates. The beta OS was the only problematic OS I have incurred. I still have slight probs occasionally. If my computer is booting and I start the TI, I get the blank screen. That's with the USB plugged in. I have the occasional clicking and popping with a few patches when the note release ends. The only serious problems I've had, say with the scretching, note hangs......etc., is when I am playing the TI with a Roland MI-20. I have not experimented too much with the multis, but when I have; no problems. I am new to synth shit so I probably haven't pushed the TI even close to it's limits. In the total integration application, I haven't had any problems in SX3. Although I'm not too sure what else it is capable of besides intregrating into my sequencer and adjusting the internal settings via my computer screen. With that being said. I am a pig in shit when I am playing this thing, all my endless amounts of softsynths are going into the recycle bin. 1.09 is my OS and the newest hotfix is installed. And NO, I don't work for Virus. That's only in my dreams.

Ain't that the truth.

Perhaps its due to having a 1.25 ghz G4, but after playing with my Polar I just can't get interested in my softsynths with their CPU-hogging and latency issues, not to mention how much easier it is playing/tweaking hardware vs software.
