NEW VIRUS VIDEO @ SONICSTATE.COM

I just have spotted a new video of the virus. haven't seen it yet myself, first have to tell it to you

now I need a bag of popcorn :D

DIGITAL SCREAMS 01.02.2006 04:04 PM

dr. orange 01.02.2006 04:13 PM

great trance demo at the end of the video ben!

imho, you look better in this glasses than in the sunglasses at the last NAMM :D

Khazul 01.02.2006 04:19 PM

Yeh - a couple of good multi demos there :)

Thats something the TI OS needs is some good multi setups as demos. I assume aftertouch or a pedal was used in the last one to fade over the sounds?

DIGITAL SCREAMS 01.02.2006 04:21 PM

I liked the Far Eastern vibe you had going there Ben....Very nice sound design. Is that a factory preset?

DS

DIGITAL SCREAMS 01.02.2006 04:25 PM

For me, this is the video thats really changed my perception of the TI. I now see its capabilities....argh i want one

Great video - looking forward to 1.1

Timo 01.02.2006 05:09 PM

Yay, wtg Ben (and matt!)

Must say I'd lost hope of a Namm vid this year! Certainly wasn't your fault, though. Maybe you should do video snippets on the Access website rather than leaving it to SonicState?

PS > Nice waistcoats!

ben crosland 01.02.2006 07:28 PM

Thanks for the comments, guys :) I hate watching those videos of myself, so I rely on you lot to know how it went ;)

I think it's simply because they would have had to do some editing on it - someone came up and complained about the volume halfway through the first take, which threw me completely (it was going great until then, of course) and it took me a few more goes to get it right after that

dr. orange 01.02.2006 07:46 PM

ben, did you use 4 to 5 voices or 45 voices? :D

Hi mate, I open the hi-fi and "big screen" streaming vids and just take a peek at the HTML source for each video page on SonicState and locate the relevent ASX or Mov "pointer" files and download them (they're tiny), then open these pointer files in Notepad and find the URLs directly pointing to the actual, full video files on their own.

SonicFTP.com is still SonicState's own host, I merely find where they store the full video files.

Searching using the keyword "Namm" on SonicState brings up a list of all the back Namm coverage of previous years, then you can find Virus related stuff via this page.

Here is the Winter Namm 05 vid:

http://www.sonicftp.com/vids/wmv/wna...s_virus_ti.wmv (27mb - Windows Media)

http://www.sonicftp.com/vids/mov/wna...s_virus_ti.mov (39mb - Quicktime Mov)

I have to add this to my Voyager AE and Source for some real fun!

DIGITAL SCREAMS 02.02.2006 07:06 PM

Ben.....you know those multis you were playing in the video....does the TI come pre-installed with some multi templates like that.....just so that you can jam out on? That would be really cool if that were possible. Kinda workstation-ish.

Cheers

nvisibl 02.02.2006 07:16 PM

Nice...

Ben I liked the Egyptian/ Far Eastern type number you were playing.
Good work on the keys to make the patch come alive for it.

Actually thats a good point - I do sometimes load up the performance mode (equiv to TIs multi mode) presets on my motif es rack if I have nothing in mind and want some random sounds to play around with until something comes up.

Having a few done by the access sound crafter crew would probably be very welcome by many :)

Of course whats also needed is Virus Control support for multis as well (import/export, convert to/from seqs)

DIGITAL SCREAMS 03.02.2006 01:45 PM

Timo i have one last favour....and id really be greatful if you could. Id like to download the Dave Smith MonoEvolver Keyboard NAMM 2006 video. Im hoping to pick one up soon-ish....and id love it for posterity!

Cheers man 8)

New online Ti video here >> Virus TI Namm video

Just about to watch it now....

Hollowcell 06.02.2006 10:21 PM

That video at Blue Monkey is much better than the Sonic State one, although it runs for bloody ages!

Ben, judging by your multi sets you have been spending many hours with the TI. Nice job to both you and Matt. Keep it up guys.

tranzash 07.02.2006 12:28 AM

Nice video, Ben some good action on the keys with the eastern riffs
