And trust me, I know it can be done...you could use FX processors, and..just learn how to play damn it!! Oh..and if the casio has built in MIDI...control it with a Triton or something! Bwahahaha. =D

Korg Triton and Casio home keyboard - What's the difference...

No FX can save your arse if the basic sound is total crap. For example you can't get Korgs to sound good even if you would stack 10000? worth of FX behind it. Muahahahaha!

Trying to make up crappy base sound with FX is like trying to make gourmet food out of rotten garbage with spices.

I dunno, I think the Triton has good capabilities...and when I get the sampling option, I'll put my own kick ass sounds. =D

But seriously the problem with Korgs is that they are only good as samplers. The ROM sounds on those things are awful. I don't know what they do to the samples, but they all seem to have a plastic coating and sound really cheesy. You can probably get out some useable strings pads, but if you want something more rompler basic you're in trouble.

Agreed! I find the KORG samples to be lacking. If you are going to go for a hardware ROMpler, go with the Fantom or Motif.

I've had a Triton Pro-X for three years now, and it truly does sound dated and thin. I use it for live performance, and it works fine for taking care of sampling and sequencing duties live, but I really don't know how Korg has shipped so many of these units with such a poor ROM library. You *can* make it work for some things when pressed, but why anyone would want to try when there are so many better, cheaper, and faster options out there is beyond me. If the Triton was cheaper, I think it might well suit a teenager who's just getting into things and learning about MIDI and sequencing, but as a professional trying to get work done, it just takes up space in my studio. But hey, one man's trash....

You know...the only reason I picked up a Motif was because the Triton was more expensive! Thank god for that, as there seems to be a consensus that the Triton has no balls.

I really like heavily reverbed lo-fi sounds...

Triton's acoustic section is not that great, But their pcm board for orchestral sounds(peter schz) is awesome. It was more than $300.00.

I have a Triton LE, so unfortunately I cannot expand via PCM boards. =(

You have some other good poieces of kit though. Use those to their effectiveness, and the triton will be masked in the mix by those.

my old guitar tutor made my crappy ?10 acoustic sound amazing. to this day i still dont know how he managed to play cowboys from hell on it and make it sound amazing with those shit strings and a bridge thats not cut properly so the first fret is impossible to play on.

i can only attribute it to the fact that he is good at his craft.
