What is your favourite sound/sample?

Just thought this would be fun if anyone's up for it. Please post your favourite sound/sample for production and if at all possible a mp3 or a link to where an example can be heard :)

It has to be the "This is a journey into the sound", bacause it's so fresh, innovative and very cool sample, for example on intros on my trance tracks.

Juho...
You funny boi!
hah

My favourite synth sounds are many within Prodigy's Fat of the land album. If anyone one knew what gear he used, I'd be interested.

this made me think of the Christopher Walken sketch about Blue Oyster Cult recording Don't Fear the Reaper.

I gotta have more cowbell, baby!

jasedee 05.02.2005 06:59 AM

Cowbells are hot too! As are woodblocks, and other percussive elements....

HOT!

hatembr 05.02.2005 09:59 AM

my favourite sound is the screaming climax in "Key To The Innerverse" by Cosmosis! it s crazy how i love that sound, i emailed him few years ago to ask him how he did it and he told me it was a Roland JD990!

For sure; She can really play. I love that track, best i've heard for a long time.

I do enjoy grandpianos aswell, and orchestral types of sounds.

It is originally from Saturday Night Live, and yeah is it a great sketch and I now can now no longer every listen to don't fear the reaper without laughing at the cowbell.

Im shure he also used JP800/990 and perhaps a Nordlead.

Which sounds are you thinking about, Hollowcell?

Hollowcell 07.02.2005 08:44 AM

Pretty much all the synth sounds on that album actually - mainly the harder ones though.

If I had to pick one sound, I'd like to know what the synth is making the sound in the intro to Serial Thrilla. Just that first sound that almost has a machine like quality.

I've read somewhere though, that he processed most (if not all) his sounds off of FOTL through the external input of an old vintage - fucked if I can remember which one though.

Great album that one.

Gopal 14.02.2005 12:45 AM

Can't beat a good cowbell though can you?

Bjorktribe 14.02.2005 05:54 PM

Favorite synth sound as current comes off The Chemical Brothers new album 'Push the Button'. It's track 2, 'The Boxer', and about 2/3 into the song this awesome solo lead screams out! It sounds like a bee and a guitar string playing a solo together. . .

huh . . .how would you put those together?

XLR8A 15.02.2005 05:56 AM

Future Phrophecies - Dreadlock
can't get this sound out of my head...

Gopal 15.02.2005 08:24 PM

Are those speakers or some sort of commercial dryer?
