God, when is it?!!!
The damn Ti unveiling at NAMM seems to be taking for ever. Has it been done already? Or is it supposed to be happening in the next 3 or 4 hours? So frustrating.
DS |
Let all hope Access have some Mp3 and a nice demo
|
It's Sunday. The last day of NAMM, rght? And it's only 11:30 in California. Waiting . . .
It's pretty cruel making us wait till the last minute, but if thats what they do, thats what they do! |
I honestly don't know DS... I've been hovering on the HarmonyCentral and SonicState websites these last few days, but nothing yet. :?
I'm so hoping for a video or demo or two, in true HarmonyCentral/Sonicstate style. PS > It's 7:30pm on Sunday here in the UK. Lucky I'm a night owl, so might catch it if it's on doubly late. :) Otherwise we might yet even have to wait another day until "tomorrow" to catch it. :/ |
Does anybody know how late NAMM is open? I'm only 3 hours ahead of them so i plan on being up late. I'll post news as soon as i hear!
|
saving the best for last!
I believe the Nammshow ends at 6:00 p.m.
I can't imagine that there won't be any official info about the Ti from Access at the biggest music trade show in the world. Good things come to those who wait. |
Another pic of the TI P?lar:

Smag finally tracks down the Access stand at Namm.........
![]() |
from the access mailing list...
'ben told me it would be 45 days until it's released' ben crossland I guess? so thats mid/late march now :? ah well....maybe they could put in that full usb2 interface into them all while we wait for it to be ready, because at this rate by the time it ships enough time will have passed to announce the fucking virus TI-2. ten |
Fellas, I don't think we are going to hear anything from Access at NAMM. After reading the crashing comment on the mailing list, Access would probably be a little embarassed if the TI were to crash during a video demonstration.
45 days sounds about right though. The date I got from the people I ordered it from was around March 10. |
Merlot.....wtf wtf wtf wtf is going on lol.....
Jeepers creepers im getting so impatient. If its mid march....it could easily turn into mid April....etc. Im itching to buy something...... Im gonna be disapointed if there is no demo or news to come out of NAMM. DS |
45 days
Cancelling my pre-order this week I think. Will re-assess when it's out.
|
I suppose when Access say 'See you at NAMM!'.......they litrally meant.....see you at NAMM. Maybe we shouldnt have expected any further info or demos of any kind......
Do you guys really think 6 weeks is going to be long enough for Access to sort out these 'problems'. Hmmm....isnt buying the first Virus |Ti going to be a tad iffy? hehehe.....im just ranting. DS |

But then I think about when the TI actually comes out, and i would probably be shooting myself! Quote:

Im suprised at the sequence of events. I just hope Access havent got too big for their boots and believe that the paying public can be played like puppets. Im sure thats not the case......but a few 80's synth manufacturers began to weaver with this kinda attitude. DS |
Man this is going on too long. I sold my virus kb 2 months ago so I could have some money for the TI Polar and now I am kicking myself. Since all of us pre-ordered the Virus TI, Access should give us some kind of incentive to keep us access customers. A rebate off the TI would be kewl, but I don't think that will happen. I am just venting like everyone else.
|
Lol, and you lot were bitching at me a week or so ago for giving access a hard time....how the world turns eh :)
I think a rebate is a stupid idea. Simple things like sound demos, some nice close up pictures. Some in depth info on the new features, how they work and how the software integrates and works within a sequencer. Even an online pdf manual or something.....actually, just fucking anything at all would be nice. Even tell us what the problem is causing this delay. ten |

Even though I have been one of the guys teasing all you pre-orderers, I'm starting to feel bad for you all now. Access should be honest and tell everyone what the hold up is. Some people are saying they are just programming new waves for the WT section, but others are saying crashes and dissabled features - Access really needs to shed light on the situation (specially after allowing pre-orders to happen based on a given release date). The waiting game continues...... |
I start thinking that Access really don't care about his customers...
I've allways heard about their serious. What now ? I know a lot of people who cancels or have already canceled their pre-order. they will buy some clavia or Alesis stuffs......its so sad. Staying silent was the worst thing to do...... now it seems they have gone too far. nobody believes in the 45 days release date. |
Well, it's 2am, Monday morning here in the UK, and still no Access Namm news, so I'm off....
I can only hope there are some juicy demos when I wake up. Here's hoping. |
Is anybody else just tempted to say F$%K ACCESS and cancel your preorder and buy another piece of kit? I know I am close. I did not preorder and pay in full to be swept under the rug with sounds or release date.
|
Anyone attend NAMM? I was able to play the new Virus TI polar. That synth is wicked!! I loved the sound on that and on top of that it looks great. Too bad the price is pretty steep. But I definitely was impressed with that synth.
I found that posted here: http://www.futureproducers.com/forum...threadid/97321 I'm not going to cancel my pre-order. I sold my Virus kb and a few other things, so I'm going to stay put. If you already ordered one you won't be charged until it ships. I agree that Access should be more open with us, but, If you enjoyed other Access gear then you know we're in for a treat. Just sit back and be cool. When they feel it's perfected we will receive it. Of course I have my Motif ES7, Nord lead2 and Juno 60 to keep me busy, so I can't miss what I never had! |

If Access are reading, maybe you should give at least a few details - even just a small audio demo posted on the boards. People are about to jump ship! |
Yea, im not gonna cancel my pre-order for the TI. I still want this synth badly and there is nothing else im even remotely interested in. The only thing is I wont trust a fucking word access ever says again about anything. And thier once pristine customer treatment has taken a severe beating with this release.

more TI info
from keyboard magazine forums
------------------------------------------------------------------------ I spent a cool half-hour getting the story from Mr.Copland himself on Saturday. He showed me a whole bunch of new stuff that blew me away. I can't remember everything he told me, but the new sync and wavetable stuff along with the LFO's ALONE produced absolutely wonderful new sounds that morphed and filtered themselves, all with the main filters and VCA's wide open. He showed me how, sync'ing with the wavetables, you can effectively have 32 "oscillators" on just one note - it sounded like a whole new thing to me - I don't think the Virus C can do what the new TI will do at all. Also, the new more powerful dual DSP processors give tons more polyphony than you'll ever need. IMO, when they have the operating system finalized and the boyz have worked their magic on the some new patches, this will be another "must have" piece of gear (in addition to Dave Smith's Evolver Keyboard!). Should be shipping in (quote) 45 days.....so expect it around April. Cheers, :DTR |
I am not going to jump ship, I am just peaved at the fact Access has the balls to treat loyal customers this way. No press release from them at NAMM, no sounds available, not an official peep from the Access camp regarding any release dates. I know if they dont come out with some kind of statement by the end of the week regarding dates, problems, or sounds, many people will probably feel the way I do now.

Im very close to saying fook it all and get the Andromeda. I would just like to have some info/update.....i dont like all this quietness. DS |
Well m8....i didnt pre-order.......however...I DO NEED A SYNTH lol.....sold all my synths remember.
Im very close to saying fook it all and get the Andromeda. I would just like to have some info/update.....i dont like all this quietness. DS[/quote] I am in the same boat, except I am looking at the v-synth. This will be my first peice of hardware kit in a year, since I sold everything else. I am going to wait a little while longer to hear what Access has to say, if they say anything at all. |
DS,
These A6 sounds my get your G.A.S. going a bit. |

As much as I love the V-synth, it will never replace a good VA. The V-synth is a sound engineering tool which needs great sounds to put in it before you can get great things out of it (IMO). Maybe some sounds from the TI would create some nice V-synth patches (if you know what I mean  ).
Hang in there fellas. Hopefully won't be long. |
HC,
THanks, Like i said, i am not going anywhere, I am just getting a bit anxious. Not to mention tired of turning "virtual" knobs with a mouse. |
If they don't give us any sort of idea as to what is going on pretty damn quick then i'm cancelling my pre-order and getting this badboy!
![]() ![]() Access apparently do not know how to treat their customers anymore. You don't leave them in the dark for 2 + months, they obviously know how anxious we are about this thing and not a word out of them. You have the NAMM, which is what they wait for all year to release all of their best stuff and still nothing. WTF! The better straighten their act up or i'm done with them, bottom line! |
Caught a quote over on the link to that FutureProducers forums:

It's good to remember that even though the wait is long, Access IS building a NEW piece of hardware with a NEW piece of software and a seamless way to integrate the two. Something that they ave NEVER done :D I can't imagine the pressure that they're under right now to release this project! There must be a lot of asprin in the shop and a stock of caffine pills!
!Go Access Go! So that said, I'm waiting. This will be only my second hardware synth and I know if I buy something else I'll kick my own arse for the rest of my life. Or at least the next time I have 2300 dollars laying around. And I'm a college sudent, It's hard to save! |
Even with the TI being delayed it still seems like Access is ahead of the other companies in terms of the total integration idea/approach. At least I didn't hear anything else from NAMM that other companies are giong this direction. Could be another 6 months or year before another company has something similar.
The idea of having a computer plugin interface to a hardware synth is just going to be too cool. At least it is in my virus filled dreams :o) |
I'm really disapointed as well :(
Mostly since I've sold my KC a few months ago to get the TI... No virus synth for a while I guess :( |
