What are our friends over at propellerheads doing?

Alright; Ola updated his plans some days ago with a small picture and said;

You may want to have a look around the website to find a few more of these. I'll add even more of them in a day or two. or three :)
read more on; www.propellerheads.se

These are the pictures found so far;

On www.reasonstation.net is another picture available for you to see what bits/parts are missing.

Reason 3.0? And the big question really; what is it? Support of VSTi, Surround-mixer? - Let your imagine go wild.

jasedee 23.11.2004 04:11 AM

I think a new instrument/device for existing Reason software?

Hollowcell 23.11.2004 05:47 AM

I can tell you one thing the guys at propellor headz aren't doing though. They aren't making recycle compatible with hardware samplers anymore!

i think they are shooting themselves in the foot there HC.....

3o3 23.11.2004 06:26 PM

Err - this looks really odd now. Just a few days more and let's see what happends too it

jasedee 24.11.2004 10:43 AM

THIS MODEST DEVICE WILL CHANGE REASON III..........

Or something like that?

I think for sure 3 will be here soon......

3o3 24.11.2004 12:19 PM

I am thinking the same thing; but what will it do? some sort of a 'synth-complier', maybe it lets you build patches using multiple subtractors and save it like an patch in that machine? that would be a nice feature acctually

3o3 24.11.2004 07:00 PM

Alright; Combinator.. VSTi-support?

Gopal 26.11.2004 02:00 AM

At the end of the day Reason is just a toy. If ya wanna get serious, get some real gear!

I think Liam Howlett may disagree there.....

P.S I am interested in what your definition of "Real gear" is, and also can you list your own studio gear please, just for interests sake? Thanks mate!

3o3 29.11.2004 01:40 PM

Reason 3.0; read more on http://www.propellerheads.se/remote....aymain2reason3

DIGITAL SCREAMS 29.11.2004 01:51 PM

I hate the subtractor tho!!! horrible!!

peace

Subtractor sure is weak, but if you combine a couple of them add alot of effects and you got something that sounds like an early casio home-'synthesizer'.

nah, but i do like the malstr?m-synth.

Boring.

NNXT

The only thing I use in Reason. Great , powerful sampler - and I can record it into tracks in Live using rewire. Perfect for drums. And capable of very deep layered regions for drums - and an alternate button that will randomly pick between multiple samples layered on the same note. I gots my Roland Octapad midied to that - beautiful, and low in the CPU.

I don't think the new combinator is boring in anyway. Add 10 Malstr?m-synth's, some effects and you'll get a really nice sounding 'new' synth. Scream 4 destruction is one of the nicest features in Reason and i haven't still found any vsti that can do the same thing and sound like it.

Scream, NNXT and the malstr?m is my favourites in Reason

3o3 30.11.2004 12:59 AM

Oh yeah, i do like the vocoder aswell - but i really miss that "Audio in"-feature

Nigel Harkness 30.11.2004 01:20 AM

Do current users have to pay to upgrade?

3o3 30.11.2004 03:25 AM

Yah, unfortantly - greedy swedes

Nigel Harkness 30.11.2004 04:03 AM

how much?

I've registered for the beta testing so i'll let everyone know how it is!

3o3 30.11.2004 04:09 AM

I think i saw a pricetag around $100 for the upgrade. I am not 100% sure about this since i can't find the info again.

I am abit pissed on that acctually; i was one of the first in Europe that got a copy of Reason, and when i bought it said on propellerheads.se-homepage; Bla bla isn't much money + you'll get an upgrade to a x.0-version for free - They released v1.01 and then they released 2.0 and it cost almost $200 to upgrade - which i did and now they want $100 more.

I could gotten a 'real' sequencer and some freeware vsti's acctually; well well

Nigel Harkness 30.11.2004 07:05 PM

I tell you what i'll be pretty pissed off if I have to dish out money to upgrade to 3.0 considering I have been a registered user for like 3 1/2 years.

3o3 30.11.2004 07:11 PM

Yah, but it's exactly like that for me aswell.

I bought Reason in January 2001 or something like that - and you still gotta pay for this upgrade 'til Reason 3.0

Nigel Harkness 30.11.2004 07:19 PM

Damn the man!
