80's style sounds?
Using the analog 2-pole on the virus kc.
Scroll down to find my link! DS |
LMAO
C'mon guys......it was meant to be a serious question. Dont feel embarrased  DS |
I have never come close to getting a nice guitar sound. I have managed to get a passable plucked string sound though, but it always seems to static when compared to a real plucked string.
Capturing the playing nuances of a real Electric Guitar is pretty much impossible IMO. Some of the newer VSTis do a reasonable job, but an analogue modeling synth doesn't seem to cut it. That's probably why Romplers (and real Guitars)sell so well I guess. At any rate though DS, I am looking forward to hearing what sounds you come up with. :D Let us know when you have some ready! :D |
guitars
for analogue guitars my G2 and moss board do a good job.
On G2 there is a preset patch called acoustic guitars. it has 8 variations of guitar sound, kind of like the random patch generator. Hail physical modelling. |
Hey DS, if you wanna hear how close I've gotten to guitar sounds with my synths, listen to the track I've got in the "forum member's music" section. All the sounds in my newest song are either the nord, VC, Juno or CS.

Will do HC
Ill take a listen over this weekend! DS |
Well here it is. A quick 80's style track all done on Virus and played live. Hehe I apologise in advance for the 80's style drums etc etc.
The first chord sequence was made using the analog filter The synth guitar uses the standard Virus LP The funky bass uses the analog filter http://dw.com.com/redir?edId=3&destU...296363&astId=2 If you feel like taking the piss....plz do muhahahhaahah DS |
I posted this on another forum and someone told me its sounds like porno music. Great!
hehehe DS |
80's
Nice track, you could use like dnb kit instead of a acoustic drum kit and dnb style drum work.
Awesome guitar patch mate :D Is it realy the stand lp flt with saw and pulz. and saturation. like that bass too, very good in dnb and tribal. |
Thx for ur comment. Hmmm DnB version would be fun hehe.
The guitar sound is actually based on 2 saw's, the second one being detuned to 25. The filter settings are critical.....but effects even more so. Took me 2 days of tweaking to get the tone I was looking for. Some bands in the 80's used synths to create guitar solo's...... Im happy with my attempt. Trying to do it on a modular would be a head fuck...but ultimately more realistic. DS |
Guitar
That guitar patch could fit well in to tranz and ambient tracks :D
DS, you have the triton right. Is it possible to make that dolpin ride (motion synth) sound on the virus. May be too different patches. one is the pad sound and other is that syn cliker effect sound. |
Well Triton Studio is actually my m8's. Im not really into that side of things.....but he is. Ill ask him. But its possible to make any type of sound really....I think he has the moss expansion board for it aswell.
Ill get back to u on that 8) DS |
This _really_ sounds like a pornomovie tune! I like it!
I am thinking of contacting some companies that releases pornomovies and ask if they are intrested in some of my pornfunkmusic. hehe A friend wrote some music for a pornomovie and got alot of cash for it and I don't mind having the "Worked for XXX-company" in my CV. EDIT: Ohh, forgot to mention -> great sounds there DS! I am really impressed by the padsounds. |
Hi guys....
Ive got another clip HERE of my Virus KC synth guitar. This time a pluked bass and pad sound has also been added (also from the virus) and the drums from an Electribe. Hehe...see what you think. DS |
It is great! Does sound like some music from a porno. The second tune you have, I am waiting for a barry white like deep voice to come in and start talking to his girl.
Good stuff. BTW, the patchwork is good stuff. |
Thx man lol......
Like ur Avature....goes well with ur new sub-name! DS 8) |
