Cubase SX controls Virus{SOLVED}

Cubase SX 2.2 is controling my Virus C desktop. When I click play on the transport bar it plays my VC and when I click stop or loop it sounds like the VC is being transpose. Any Idea what is going on?
Any help would be awesome,

I think the fact that no-one has replied about your Cubase SX posts is that it sounds like you are having very strange problems.. we're not just all being rude :)

All I can suggest is make sure you have the latest drivers, test your midi output with some other program (is it just Cubase that does this?) and recheck your midi rx/tx settings on your virus, and again in cubase.

Otherwise, sorry I can't be of any specific help :|

{solved}

Thank you for your friendly reminder. I was beginning to think you all were asses. After days of frustration and no response from anyone "except you 8O " I finally narrowed it down. It was my "Mackie Control Universal". I disabled it in Cubase and now all is better. Now I just gotta find out how to implement the two...Thought I'd share the fix and maybe save someone from this horrid experience... :)

I have 3 jobs at the moment - all teaching English :roll: .

Originaly I came for a holiday only, but then I was offered a job, so I came back to live. It's turned out to be longer than I expected though.

So where are you from? What are you doing here in Japan yourself?

freeman 31.05.2004 11:44 PM

Quite a nice job! So where are you from originally?

What do you mean your recorded midi arps are not playing the same?

freeman 01.06.2004 12:53 PM

:) California. Been fiddling again with the arps and it still sounds funny. First I record the arp(holding down one key) than I insert another midi track and assign it to channel two. Record the midi notes and then delete the first midi track. Assign my sound to the remaining arp midi track and it sounds very different than what I had heard before. Sounds like it is going a bit fast. The master clock is set. Any Idea?

Hollowcell 01.06.2004 11:55 PM

First of all make sure the Virus is syncing to the midi clock comming from Cubase.

You have to remember that when you record an arp in Cubase, you aren't actually recording each note of the arp, you are recording the first note to trigger the arp (unless of course you set things up to record each note - which I never do, so don't ask me how).

Once you have the single note recorded in Cubase, you can use the tempo of cubase to change the speed of the arp in your virus (as long as the virsu is syncing to midi clock from cubase OK).

Hope you have understood all this.
Good luck and let me know if it helped.
