Above & Beyond patches

Hi. Has anyone ever tried making some a&b type sounds? I've tried to make the bass, pad and lead sounds from Oceanlab - Satellite on Virus C. Here's a demo.

All synth sounds are self programmed Virus C patches.

Regards,
Rick

very nice sounds, very close to the original

Manuel Schleis 23.04.2004 05:35 PM

I like it Richard! Excellent work.

I have tried myself a 1:1 copy of those basses, Above & Beyond uses, I love them... in the next soundset (for Powercore 01 Synth)

richardfletcher 23.04.2004 07:23 PM

Hi.

Yeh, I love their basslines. I made the bassline first :D . The lead patch was made one of your patches Manuel. The strings are made from the same patch as the lead funnily enough. The mix isn't as good as the original, I only did a quick mix. I'd be really interested in hearing your bassline Manuel. :)

Kind Regards,
Rick

Sounds wicked mate!! :D

Timo 27.04.2004 08:52 PM

Er, like, woa!! 8O Which bits were ripped from the original, other than the vox/acapella? Did you lift the drums, too?

Sounds absolutely wicked. On A/Bing with the actual A&B remix, the only distinguishable difference that I noticed was that the A&B remix sounds slightly more dynamic (less squashed), but other than that, kickin'! :)
