Tomer=Trance 13.10.2003 06:42 AM

its an anoying little thing
never use it because i always edit the notes anyway....
yeah good to see you back 8)

I find myself a nice juicy breakbeat. Much more fun to compose over than a metronome!

nice to see another person into some breaks around here!!

It would drive me mad if I'd keep metronome ticking all the time. I use it only for recording. No reason to keep it permanently on. I think the sequencer can keep time without ticking. It's not a drummer!

Smag 15.10.2003 08:02 PM

I listen to it for a bit after I've recorded a track, just let the sequence run with the metronome to make sure the timing all checks out, then I switch it off and add some drums :)

mighty 17.10.2003 07:33 PM

no I only leave it on for recording the goods

udenjoe 19.10.2003 08:45 AM

The mpc 2000 had a nice one.

Thanks for the replies..

Yea i havent been listening to it to record, and im trying to get the quantizing right.. kinda tricky using sonar2 and audio and midi tracks.

I need more time with my studio
Here is something i whipped up, to test my Virus sounds..

Does it sound too low? And how off-beat is it

the acid filler is way to low in the mix. :(
this all sounds, timing wise, correct :)

FLUIDNYC 30.10.2003 06:24 PM

Hey mighty hows the volumes now..

main lead is from Virus b.
i made it louder, its bass heavy..let me know if its too loud.

When i listen to this, the main lead is loud. maybe too loud.

Thanks,
FLUID

it seems to all sit okay, me I would take a little of that compression off the kicks, but you probably want it there on purpose since this sounds like a hard techno track....
I did not hear however, the acid line I did before?.........did you remove it on accident?

FLUIDNYC 30.10.2003 09:50 PM

yea i just changed the virus patch..
im in multi-mode.. just playing around ..

mighty 31.10.2003 07:51 PM

I need to have a go at multi....I end up however live jamming and forget all about it

here is a little intro I did last night in 20 minutes or so.

FLUIDNYC 31.10.2003 08:32 PM

Very nice mighty!!

Sounds great bro :D

I dunno, should i rework it?
I was just playing around..i just need more time with my stuff, plus im a total newbie to engineering my stuff, and trying to create beats from scratch.

What ya using to sequence?

peace-
FLUID

mighty 31.10.2003 09:35 PM

I produce solely in fl studio.
the arp part wasn't sequenced, it was played live....but yeah, I sequence and record line in audio in studio.
