Which synth is this clip made with?

Hey!
I was wondering which synth this clip is made with?
I was thinking a nordlead, but is it possible to get it with a virus?

http://www.trancex.dk/chimeras/synthsound.mp3

thanks in advance!

ipaqlinux48 30.08.2003 12:29 PM

Isn't this the famous superstring patch  ? If you'll give me a minute? I try to simulate this patch.

nrgy 30.08.2003 12:48 PM

hmm, I don't think so...mabe it is....but I think the superstring sound different than this..

nrgy 30.08.2003 12:53 PM

heres my try on my JP:

http://www.trancex.dk/chimeras/jp.mp3

let me add that I'm not an expert synthprogrammer hehe.

any tips of how I can improve the sound in this mp3 clip?

thanks!

Tomer=Trance 30.08.2003 01:24 PM

you should export it in lower quality.... like 24 to get that noisey bad quality sound :) maybe then i will sound more like the original and you will know if you did a good job
from which track this was taken? it sounds good...

nrgy 30.08.2003 01:26 PM

the track is
Chemistry - Desire (Vocal Club Mix)

nrgy 30.08.2003 01:33 PM

You mean Export with lower Bit depth?
I exported it in 44100/24

is this a good trick to do with synth sounds with much high freq/noise, to export it to for example 96kbps? and use in the mix? exported the JP clip to 96kbps, and then it wasen't so noisy. and I felt I could hear it clearer in some way, but also not so clear

Tomer=Trance 30.08.2003 01:56 PM

after i export to wav
i always convect to mp3 in 24,64,128 and 192 to hear how the mix sounds

ipaqlinux48 30.08.2003 02:36 PM

This is my first time so don't be disappointed  , but the sample sounds quite nice. Here you can find the sounddiver patch. It's based on the CommerseSV patch you can found in  THE tutorial.

ipaqlinux48 30.08.2003 02:42 PM

Hi nrgy, can you upload your JP patch somewhere, so that I can play with it? Or, maybe you should tell us how you did it. I assume you have used the supersaw, haven't you?

nrgy 30.08.2003 03:10 PM

well it's quite easy sound to make,
just set it at the supersaw waveform, turn the CTRL 2 at the top and CTRL 1 at the 4th point from top, put freq to top, treble at 40, bass at something you like, put alittle chorus and delay on it, and you have it

Blank 31.08.2003 11:45 AM

ok guys im a bit disappointed!!! Good sounds but i figured u could get closer then that...

looks like its my turn!!

Im just playing...good tries guys!
maybe ill give it a go

peace
Blank

BTW if any1 could upload the right sequence...it would make it much easier!!!

nrgy 31.08.2003 01:27 PM

heres an updated clip;)

http://www.trancex.dk/chimeras/nrgytestlofi.mp3

don't mind the bass, because it sucks and is playing bad notes....

made on JP8000

Tomer=Trance 01.09.2003 06:48 PM

think i'l also give it a try on my virus
the sequence will be nice...

nrgy 01.09.2003 06:59 PM

so i am thinkin that i might give it to the first 10 ppl who request it...
jsut as long as they reply to this by saying how close it is..

i realy dont think this was done with a nord lead but i dont know
the only time i tried the nl was dry without any external fx

Machinegunjoe 03.09.2003 10:47 PM

But nrgy has a Jp...so why not?

Machinegunjoe 03.09.2003 10:48 PM

no way that it's a NL, its a JP!

Well, Trance sounds aren't really my domain, but I couldn't resist a crack at this - here is my (Virus C) attempt for you to check out. It's not an exact clone, but I think it's fair to say that it's in the right ball-park.

BTW: If you want to use nrgy's .mid sequence to check it, you will need to transpose it down an octave.

ok boyz i wasnt going to up this but, u all want it so bad...i think this is as close as possible that i can get...without the piece they used...if u add a bit of compression and maybe an enhancer i think u could get closer...

but tell me what u think...oh and use the midi sequence that was upped to this thread

peace
