I just ordered a new big workstation (studio desk) from Germany. It should arrive after 3 weeks and I will take some pictures and post here. :)

i just bought a nice new chair too, my back's been f*#ked for years and i've had a crappy chair, but i just bought this and it's sooooo nice, i was going to buy an Aeron but to tell you the truth i tried 3 different ones, all with different sizes and couldn't find one that felt good, either the back of my legs were digging in the front edge or i couldn't get the lumbar area feeling good.A friend also has one that i've sat on for prolonged periods and always felt like i needed to keep re- adjusting myself. Anyway i ended up buying this http://www.bizchair.com/me7erg-euro.html
and couldn't be happier, to me it's way comfier and cheaper than the aeron :)

Yes, it's very important to spend some money on a good chair, desk etc. too and not everything on synthesizers and other gear. I have noticed this lately. Altough you would have tons of gear but if they're arranged badly it's very difficult to do anything with them. And the chair is very important for the reasons you already said and because that's what you have to use all the time.

I bought a better chair 2 years ago but it still isn't the best possible chair. I guess I'm gonna buy a new one at some point but now I'm waiting for my new workstation. It's desk size is 200x100 cm, it has a big sliding shelf for a keyboard, 2x10u rack space on the sides and I also ordered 2x 4u racks for the top. I had been looking for such a workstation for a long time but didn't find one and neither didn't want to spend so much on a workstation. It cost 980 euros including shipping. At first I thought that it's too expensive because I could get another synth with that money but then I realized that a good workstation is really important and I could finally arrange all my gear nicely. I would like to work so that all my gear is in front of me and I can reach the knobs easily etc. I guess this will finally be true. :)

In fact I just sold my 24u rack and monitor stands. I still have my keyboard stand but I guess I'm gonna sell it too because the workstation has room for all the gear I currently have and there will still be plenty of room for other rack equipment because I've sold many synths from my rack (which I regret :D ).

Great posts boys.
For my 2cts..
I've gone back to a hard-ass stool. Keeps my back straighter.
Great studios you boys have.

Another guitar lover here :)

Just ordered one of those light refracting lazer thingies for my studio. Cheers whoever posted about that. Should make a massive difference to the ambience of my setup. Will get some new pics once everything is rearranged.

I just got the maxxstation workstation from musicstore germany. Finally I can arrange my equipment like I want! The workstation is very big, 2m x 1m and heavy. It's made of beech plywood and it's lacquered. The only downside is that you can see the plywood structure at the edges but the finish is still very good. All corners and edges are smooth. The racks are very well designed and it's very easy to install your rack equipment. The workstation comes with all bolts and nuts for the racks.

Here are 2 pics which I just took. The main 2x10u racks are almost empty now but I will start filling them soon. The power amplifier is on the bottom of the right side rack. I guess nord rack 2x will be the first synth rack which will go to the left side. :)

At first it might look like the monitors were too high but they're not, at least for me. In fact the BM15's sound like ass if you put them in horizontal position. I tried that at first but the sound is just horrible, full of anomalies due to the position and reflections from the table. They must be installed in vertical position, like I have in the picture. Then the sound is perfect.
