Hey guys, just to let all you UK Ti fans know that the first delivery to Turnkey has been set for 15th Feb. I placed my order in early December and Turnkey said they would e-mail me as soon as they had firm confirmation from Access - and now they have!
Hi David, ACCESS VIRUS TI new date of arrival - 15/02. Sorry about delay. Best regards, Alex Cichoski ext. 266 |
That's some great news :)
So hopefully I will get it by march! Damn, almost half a year without my virus lol |
Guys I have been told that Ti would be released sooner.
A lot of shop who firstly said mid february have changed to a sooner date. This date is for france and europe, don't know for states. I won't tell more cause its certainly another Pre-order trick |

bah!!
I so feel like the guy in blay's avatar. hmm lets see its been almost a half of a year since I sold my indigo!!!! :x  :? 8O

Good news... most online shops now advertise April 29th as their shipping date. This made me send an email to Access and directly ask them about their shipping date. I wrote them yesterday and I got a response from Access today (Feb-16):

I wonder if that means that the retailers get them in march and some of us pre-order dudes get our long awaited goodies and the rest of the plebs get to wait till april...
|
...did i mention my bday is on the 20th march?
|
Well blay I guess if your getting the TI then you can have a happy birthday.....hopefully!
|
On the Access website it says......'Shipping in March'
Id says thats more acurate than any retailers guess. DS |

Kind of like when they had "shipping in December" on there!!!!!!! |
Don't dash our hopes now Merlot.
|
I dont see it coming before April. i think they are leaving that on there, b/c they know they are getting to the point where people are going to start saying enough is enough. I hope I am wrong though!

Only time will tell.

I cancelled my order.
A) I think they're a**holes for perpetually lying about the release date. B) I woke up to the fact that it's insane to put down that much money for a product that hasn't been thoroughly reviewed and tested. C) I'm going to wait until they upgrade the hardware interface to Firewire or at least USB 2.0 (and you know they eventually will). And until they've worked the kinks out of the OS, which there still will be even when it ships. D) I'd rather spend that money now on tried and true products and actually be working on music instead of twiddling my thumbs, waiting and hoping for some elusive ship date. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure I'll buy a TI eventually but I've just realized that my previous impatience was just a bit of foolishness engineered by a marketing machine eager to line its pockets as soon as possible. |

It is not usb2, its usb2 compatible. Which basically means you can plug it into a usb2 port and it will work fine. It is infact usb1 spec and speed, meaning 12mb/s. Yes, I agree It SHOULD of been usb2 or firewire from the beginning and allowed all 16 chans of audio instead of 2/3 but there you go, maybe an upgrade later on or TI-2.

This usb bandwidth problem is the only downside of the TI. I would like to use many other audio unit fx plugins for the individual trakcs but TI means that you'll be using mostly the TI's own fx (which are good, but not enough). I will wait and see if Access updates the driver to be able to use 4 stereo outs. That would be the minimum usable amount of connections.

Keep it in your pants. Europe first, US second, Japan and then on down the ole imperial landscape.
|
Latest words from access, TI will be shipping from Germany at the end of march. Saw this at novamusik
|
We will see if their "45 days from now (Jan 23 BTW)" Holds true. I hope so, but after their performance on this release, I think not. . . . . . .
|
maybe around summer namm 2005

End of March

Other stuff which has caught my eye recently is the VSynth XT and Nord Modular G2. The TI would be good but I may return for that later i.e: when its available. 8) There is also a teeny-weeny gripe that I was 'fooled' back in November. |
Sorry to say, but all of you who put down deposits on the TI got sucked in big time.
Access are twiddling their thumbs biding their time, whilst they fix any existing bugs, assess demand for their production runs, check out what the competition is doing and overall continue to build momentum for the final release. I cant blame them in a way, its a competitive market out there.....cliche...: Patience is a virtue ! I am prepared to wait ! |
zZ sounds expected shipping date is 4-29-2005 8O

I think Aster has hit the nail on the head with them just creating more hype. |
I cancelled my order a couple of days ago. I placed it in December but decided I wasn't prepared to be messed around anymore. It is a shame and I am a bit gutted. There are lots of alternatives though and a Waldorf Q should be finding it's way to me this week. It doesn't mean to say I won't get a Ti in the future.

I'm in a dillema...
Might get a Vsynth XT instead and get a TI when it will have either usb2 or firewire! All these delays don't make me feel too confident about the stability of the product. Buying a buggy 80$ product is a bit frustrating, so when spending more than 3000$ for a synth, it better be ROCK SOLID! |

I am in the same type of situation. i am looking at the spectralis though instead. And will probably pick up TI later. Dont know what I am going to do though. I have store credit that is burning a hole in my pocket waiting for the damn TI. Another problem is, I have no synth to fill the void. I had to send my V back for a power supply shortage. They had none to replace it at the time, so I am back to where I started. All vritual, with no hardwaRE. |
Earlier in this thread, I posted an email response from ACCESS themselves. A soon as I saw various sites posting that late April date, I wrote them. They immediately responded that they are still shipping the Virus TI line within the first couple of weeks of March. This was great news because I prepaid for mine and have been assured of getting one out of their first shipment. woooo hoooo

You Bastard. I am going nuts over what to do. I am waiting for reviews on the spectralis. By the time that happens, the TI will most likely be out. So, it prolly going to be the TI. Considering the Nord 3 is being discontinued, which means a new version is coming hopefully at Musikmesse this year (April '05) <--this is just speculation BTW. |
