I use the vst ISM Bazzism for my psy kicks.
Really recommended ;-)

Kill most of the low end (63Hz) of the kick and bring out 80 - 100Hz a bit. The kick has to be flat as hell and not interfere with the bass line. It's not all that difficult. Oh, remember very short decay. Flat and punchy!

One trick I have used a lot, especially on drums, and especially on the kick drum, is to pass it (ie only the kick) through a compressor with the following settings:
Ratio: Max
Threshold: Min
Attack: Max
Release: Min

This makes the kick very much louder, but also gives it a fairly even dynamic with a nice snapping sound at the very start of the waveform. I sometimes compress the sound again after this stage to tame the snappiness a bit, but I've found it a good way to get a really massive, punchy-sounding kick.

Hopefully this works between different compressors and wasn't just an artefact of that particular model....hmm...

http://rapidshare.com/files/392830630/My_kicks.zip - catch some kick what I use. Some cut out from tracks, some do by myself with virus or Audition, some from other libraries, but edited a little bit.
Maybe you find some of that kicks useful.
