My guess is it will be by using audio routing rather than digital transfers. You'd probably need a sound card with many ins/outs to make it worth while.

But who knows, maybe they have figured out some new technology to transfer audio data through the normal midi ports on any synth!! :D Joke by the way.

So back to the TI.....

I hear on the grape vine that the TI will be released! Can't give any specific dates, but I can definitely say it's somewhere in between now and one day. :D

inasense 17.08.2005 05:31 AM

I just got my TI Polar. Then my wife had to wake me up. Damn! Hopefully soon the dream will be real. :(

Yea, I guess the people whos bussiness depends on things like shipping dates wouldn't really know anything. Who cares if they have taken money and placed orders for customers. What do they care once they have taken our money? We all know what Access has been telling the distributors about projected shipping dates cause we have thier offices bugged, so what the heck was I thinking? :P

DIGITAL SCREAMS 17.08.2005 08:18 AM

Fuck it. I just bought a DX7 MKii FD (no your not reading double....this one works!) and im very happy with it. Classic in every respect.

Ive used alot of keyboards....and I can hand on heart tell you all that if you are in need of great keyboard action then this is your synth. Both the DX and Virus use a semi weighted action....

BTW....all that crap you hear about the DX7 being impossible to program...thats a load of nonesense. I admit its alot easier to make bass and leads.....but where there's a will there is a way.

PS - I tell you guys.....after hearing one of these....i think everyone should own a cheap DX. The Rhodes, organs and bases....are amazing.

DS

Onkel Dunkel 17.08.2005 08:56 AM

I just checked for prices for a DX7. They?r really cheap 8O One of my friends?s dad has 2 DX7. Maybe i should ask i he wants to sell one of them. Or maybe not. My wife will rip my head of if i drag anymore gear home

i3 17.08.2005 05:47 PM

you can tell who the TI virgins and sluts are now in the forum. haha self delusion  . well I payed for the TI at Guitar center december 2004 and Im sure the guy who sold it to me is wondering bout his commision haha. plus I think its funny the SX3 is coming out with its own version of total intergration. it was bound to happen. its in the market. so this might put access's panties in a bunch. if they want to be the first to release the technology and deam what rightfully theres, Maybe this will be the position they have to be put in to release the damn synth. geez its not the freakin holy grail.

MacQ 23.08.2005 06:10 AM

Cubase does not have total integration. It just has "slicker hardware routing and usage". It's basically like having a MIDI editor in your sequencer and the dedicated channels for the input. For what it's worth, though, it only works for a single stereo pair (at least that's what they've said on the Cubase forums). So ... it's sort of hit and miss. I use 4 x 2 channels from my XV5080, so I guess I'll just continue to do it the "old fashioned" way. Total integration is multi-channel audio and offline bouncing. This is just a hack. A useful hack, but a hack nonetheless.

merlyn 23.08.2005 04:04 PM

I can't believe that we're actually coming up on September, 8 months after the TI was supposed to be released and still no official word from Access. Amazing.

Timo 23.08.2005 04:35 PM

NEWSFLASH!!!!

I know, I'm a Cubase user. In any case, I'm not holding my breath. Although, on re-reading the SOS article about 3.1, it mentions only one instance of a hardware "plugin", and not necessarily just a stereo pair. There is hope!

So I guess the "Virus TI" and the "TI Extreme" don't really go well together. lol :D

Keith Phillips 24.08.2005 10:56 PM

Then Nov. 3rd, then Dec. 3rd, continue ad nauseum. :/

Was coming really close to getting a KC but I figured that $1,500 might be too much, but I'm not real sure...

Hehe, HC has got me a few times too. When the TI really is gonna get released no one will belive it
The Fantom is great. Really nice sounds (especially the acustic piano and nylon guitars). Still getting to know it (goddanm those manuals are getting bigger and bigger) so i havn?t really been playing much aruond with the sampler yet. If i have to say something bad about it then it must be that it?s goddanm big. It takes up so much space that i have to re-arange my setup some day soon  Another thing is that now my real piano have to be stored away because that was the deal with my wife  I wonder if i can get used to playing piano with synth-action keys

pseudonym 30.08.2005 10:26 AM

Man, I actually had a serious dream about getting the Virus TI last night.

It came in two parts; the rack and the keyboard. The rack was like a pre-power amp combination, and it filled the house with awesome tech sounds. Then I plugged the keyboard in and woke up because I was too excited.

This is insane!

Where the **** is it?!

F5D 30.08.2005 09:00 PM

I saw a dream (better say nightmare) 2 years ago. I was playing alesis andromeda in the dream and guess what happened when I woke up... It was just a dream. I didn't have the synth altough in the dream the damn synth was mine!

In fact I felt so sad that I actually sold something and went to a music store and bought one. What a great purchase! I have never felt anything like I felt when I powered up my andro for the very first time. It was like a dream. :D

Doc Jones 30.08.2005 09:37 PM

I've been eyeing the andromeda for a while - how do the two synths - andromeda and virus compare?

jasedee 31.08.2005 06:47 AM

You know, I went to a store the other day and played with a Andromeda, a MiniMoog Voyager, and an ION, and honestly, the thing that impressed me most was the ION.

I was surprised to say the least....

The A6 just didnt sound that much better than a VA, the MiniMoog Voyager wasnt anything special although it did look damn cool.

The ION, at its relatively low price, ROCKED!

Strange...

Doc Jones 31.08.2005 02:28 PM

You know, a while back my sweetwater rep told me to pick up an ion as a good complement to my virus. I took a look at it online (no places has it on display here) saw the price and thought "it doesn't look too special" - but it just goes to show that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. So, does it sound distinctly different than the sounds coming out of the virus c?

MADSTATION 31.08.2005 04:03 PM

Is the TI still in development?

Well...I dont know about that. It certainley didnt sound as dark or aggressive as the Virus. These days, alot of the VA's are sounding kinda similar to me. I would say though that it is somewhere between a Nord and a Virus.

I dont know if I would get one though cos the Virus is better IMO (more voices, parts etc)

Hey folks,

Just thought I'd let you know that a dance music forum I frequent, the creators of which are responsible for writing this excellent book:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...574874-9118839

- have just announced the winner to a competition to win a Virus TI.

The competition winner was supposed to be announced in June, but the mods of the forum have been delaying the announcement of the winner, but not directly giving any indication that it was because of the delay in the Virus TI...

However, this announcement clearly states the wait was down to Access, and the wait is now over.

"...And finally, after such a long wait (bloody Access!!) The winner of the Liberty X competition is..."

From: http://www.dancemusicproduction.com/...opic=216&st=40

Does this mean they are on their way, or does it mean some poor bugger has won a glitched out Virus TI that only works with Cubase on Windows 2000?

pseudo

merlyn 06.09.2005 03:02 PM

Hmmm...the TI software must be pretty broken. That's my entry for "the most obvious statement" awards.

blay 06.09.2005 03:26 PM

...or the 'most obvious understatement' award.

Tomer=Trance 06.09.2005 03:28 PM

Heres a scenerio!
some dickhead worker erased all their cods by accident including all backups and for the past 6 months they are redeveloping the virus all over again, every programer throws a line of cod he remembers :D

MADSTATION 06.09.2005 04:46 PM

Well maybe they just CAN'T make it.
As far as I know they are the first company to attempt the concept of Total Integreation in a really convenient solution...

Now the product is going to come at least a year late with the same old features and that same old USB.

Am I still replying in that same old topic ? ;)

I'm most definately worried about the stability of the product...The Powercore Virus is still quite buggy yet just a plugin.

Time will tell..Hopefully!

MacQ 06.09.2005 05:37 PM

Yeah ...

Nearly 9 months and 1000 posts since this thread started, and still no TI. Oh well, at least I don't need it right now.

~MacQ

Househead 06.09.2005 05:57 PM

Like I said before...2006 maybe

How much longer is this company going to make people wait as I think 9 months overdue is certainly a pi55take

Big Big Sigh...

Doc Jones 06.09.2005 06:34 PM

Isn't there some type of major music showcase coming up next month? I would be very surprised if they were a no show this year (given that they were there last year with the TI) :?

jsynthe 06.09.2005 07:40 PM

Yes. It's the AES Convention in NYC October 7-10. I suspect that the delay of the TI release has something related to the next installment of Logic and/or Cubase/Nuendo, etc.

Well, yeah, there is something a bit fishy about the whole business.

(Not sure if cod are reknowned worldwide, if not: Cod = a common and over-fished fish, at least here in the UK, most likely to be seen encapsulated in batter in local English Fish 'n Chip shops!)
