ALL of the UAD plugs are great. I wouldn't want to track live with them. They are definitely a mix tool. If you've sequenced the track out so you don't have to care about latency, ie not a live performance, you could record through them on a bus. The Precision series is great and that Precision Limiter is the best limiter I've used at all ever for anything. I have an older UAD1 so I don't have the newer MassivePassive or Fatso, but those would be the two I'd drop some coin on. They are great for mastering, but the 1176, LA2A, Fairchild and Pultec, Plate Reverb, Space Designer all get tons of use. I max out my UAD before the Waves stuff ever gets to play in the sandbox (except the API 2500). I'll end up getting the UAD2Sat here soon.
