edit: Your point is undoubtedly valid especially with regards to DOA/overly anal forums - yet your talking about a genre that has built itself off a drum break played by someone else and resampled and recut 10 billion times, so I hope the irony is not lost on them.

The end result is whether the songs are good or not. Personally, I see a big flat 0 difference between sampling someone elses sound from a record, or using a sample pack - it is still a sound, recorded and engineered by another person, that you are using to create a new composition with.
