Congratulations dude!!!
You're gonna love it! Is it a version 2? The sound is the same of both, but the version 1 doesn't have enough voices to do everything you might want at once. If you do one thing at a time and then bounce, there will be no difference, but it's handy to have the polyphony :) |
:)
I'm not sure if it's version 2... apparently version 2's have an orange stripe along the bottom of the front panel - I asked the guy I'm buying it from and he says there's an orange stripe along the top... No idea then :) |
Mine's got an orange stripe along the top. You'll be sweet dude :)

siiiiiik
It's coming today, can't wait to perforate those eardrums... |
ahhhhh
the elusive perfect kick drum is mine... Drumstation 909 Kick > Valve Compressor + Exciter = Bliss Thanks for the encouragement Gopal... |
You're most welcome dude.
The kick is perfect straight outta the box, but what did it for me even more is the hihats. Fuck they sound awesome with no effects at all, just eq. I just wish I had a valve compressor to run things through. What one have you got and what do you think of it? |
you're right, it is a perfectly round kick straight out of the box, but I'm going for that 'www.1.fm -> club' / 'EDR Club' compressed kick sound where the kick is almost invisible, but still with plenty of bounce and impact - it's hard to describe - it's like a rubber bubble with no thump whatsoever...
the valve I use is a TL Audio Ivory 5021. I love it. http://www.tlaudio.co.uk/tlaudio/doc...ew/5021rev.htm It makes my sounds smoother than a baby's backside. When they're coming from the Virus to begin with... it's pure silk dude :) Highly recommended! |
that's so weird - I've put a drumstation kick into the track I've been working on - it registers much more strongly on the master bus compressor - resonates really nicely in my ears on headphones, and has that nice balloon sound in pro records, and suddenly my mix is completely out of whack... Everything is too loud. It's like the old kick was stealing a load of bandwidth...
has anyone else had this? |
